I'm looking to mainly fill the Bunkhouse, but if folks want to camp thats on offer too.

Let me know if you are staying both nights, or just the Friday or the Saturday.

Same deal as before, final confirmation is by payment, and once you pay there are no refunds, as the money will be used to pay the Bunkhouse.

Costs are -

Camping - £5 per person, per night.

Bunks - £17.50 per bunk, per night.

The extra £2.50 on the bunks is for bedlinen and laundry of same, saves people worrying about sleeping bags etc.

Catering is very much a personal thing, this means we also need to keep the place tidy, if you use it, you wash it up lol! Maybe buy paper plates etc?

There are also a few pubs close by, so eating out is also an option.

So, check your diaries, and only put your names down if you are sure you can make it for a weekend of silly games, (suggestions welcome!), making friends, and whatever else takes your fancy (great walking in the area with the waterfalls etc!).

First to pay gets the bunks etc, and you can pay by installments if you want to, just let me know.

This is very much an "ad hoc" weekend, nothing major planned, just a bunch of loons having a giggle, no pressure to do anything except have a good time.

Any questions welcome, or requests to pay, details will be sent out ASAP!

Currently checking that the payment options we used for the Ball are still viable, I must point out that those that pay, either a deposit or in full, get first dibs on bunks, as we are already over-subscribed!

Please let me know which nights you want bunks for, or if you prefer to camp, currently there is no limit on numbers for camping. See earlier post on this thread for costs, hope to see all of you there!

THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED.

Unfortunately, due to getting virtually no support from those that expressed an interest, this event has to be cancelled.

The owner has been getting requests for bookings on this weekend, and as only one person had paid for their places, I cannot even pay the deposit, and I am not risking having to chase people for payment right up to the day of the event like I had to for the Ball.

I would like to thank those that put their names down, but then had to pull out for various reasons, at least they were polite enough to let me know.

I would also like to point out that this does not include those that wanted to camp, as the money for that could be paid on the day, this is about the bunkhouse booking.

We should have been able to fill the bunkhouse twice over from the number of people, either on this thread or by private message, who said they would come , but despite repeated requests I have received no reply from over 90% of those that had not pulled out.

I was going to wait until Monday before making this decision, but prompted by the poor response to my last mail, I believe that its best done now to give the bunkhouse owner more time to get another group in.

I hope in future people will understand that events such as this, camping trips and socials, don't just happen, they often take weeks, or sometimes months of planning, commitment, and hard work to make them happen.

Please think carefully next time before you decide to put your name down.

Nothing new Mart mate, we used to get it all the time with the Milford Social events, people are fickle and at best in-decisive. Once you have a regular event and regular people it gets easier admittedly but the initial stages are a nightmare, as are one off events. We thank all those who try and arrange events, don't give up hope, please keep trying and we will, as far as we can support you work and family permitting.
