With the latest hit piece on the BBC about the site it is reported that Jess Phillips wants it pulled down. What is the likelihood of this happening?

What has been reported is shocking beyond belief but is it a small minority or is this coercive behaviour more prevalent than any of us know?

I have always said that there should be the ability to name someone if something has happened that one feels uncomfortable with or didn't agree with.. I'm not saying publicly but with in the fab structure.. and if names kept reappearing then they should be removed.

I have had a few encounters when guys don't understand the word No..

Imaging if it was the lgbtq community that was being reported on like this. Would censor or ban their websites

Just heard on the radio apparently the government is looking into shutting down fabswingers

And possibly all swinging sites... Fetlife .... Killing kittens... UK swingers. Com etc

The irony is we've met at least two MPs a mass swinging party in London and we've swung with a couple counsellors

These are the same people that will stand up and demand the government shut the side down and possibly the clubs

It reminds me of the time the government tried to get back to family values turns out half the male Ministers were gay

I don't think it will be shut down but I do hope it's forced to have a better duty of care. You can report a profile using a person's pictures without their knowledge etc and the site does nothing about it. They should take some responsibility for the online interactions even if they can't do anything about the meets.

I am someone who does enjoy the hotwife/cuckold dynamic but I have seen a lot of couples where it's clearly the guy pushing it along and at least encouraging the woman to do it unfortunately.

The BBC sounds podcast said that up to 40% of women in couples don't want to be here, I don't believe it's that high a number myself

If they shut sites like this down, activities will still go on but it will be kind of "underground"

I wouldn't say fab is the problem. The site facilitates people meeting. The majority of people take things to other platform once initial contact is made here

There are some very interesting points made about this and the BBC investigation on the swinging support and advice thread.

Personally I think profiles should be checked better too. If it's a couple's profile then it should have pictures of both people.

And likewise single persons should only have that person's pictures. Has consent been obtained to display another person in profile pictures?

"Single" guys who want to show pictures of their wives..and want guys to w*ank over the pictures certainly aren't asking their wives if they are OK with it..

This is basically book of face for Swingers and it's not fault of this site.

What id imagine will happen is lots of pressure will is/is being applied to the web hosts and the payment processors. If the admins are smart they will commit to more safeguarding measures to satisfy those corporations and regulators.

I dont think its at the stage of worrying about fab being shut down, but theyve got to play the game if possible and find a way forward that has more resourced protections.

They would not be able to stop the site being used as so many countries use it, a block in the UK maybe but im sure a vpn would bypass that anyway, im not a tech savy person but sure this would work as it bypasses age restrictions due to using a foreign server or something like that lol

The issue is between the actual couple involved and not a fault of the site!

I do understand there was coercive behaviour involved but the site didn’t tell him to do that! They met people!

I do feel though that the site can learn from this. It need more security procedures.

We joined another site and we couldn’t have a profile unless you followed the prompts. One was to do a Live Photo there and then of each person in the profile. If you didn’t do the prompts then no profile.

I do hope the lady involved finds support from the correct people and is rid of the man who is responsible.
