Looking forward but living today

It is said that before entering the sea the river

Trembles with fear. Looking back on its path travelled from the mountains, through forests, valleys and villages. Ahead seeing an entire ocean, vast and endless with a fear of being lost to it.

However going back is not possible, although it gives us insight that we can use for today, we should not dwell there as it no longer exists and creates a depression in the present. Looking too far forward can creates anxiety through fear and unsurety but it helps to glance ahead to make sure we don’t stray from our path but look not for too long.

For the present is our place, where we belong and though the future seems like a vase ocean. We cannot be lost in it because we are not but a drop in the ocean, but an ocean in a drop.

As Marcus Aurelius said “Think of yourself as dead, you’ve lived your life. Now take what’s left and life it properly “

With that said:

I wish you all a Happy new year, look forward but live today!

And have a fab and filthy time living it X
