"Seems the club gives the memberships to the wrong men. We've come a cross a few lovely ones that can't get membership so maybe revoke some of the current ones to allow for new ones. An interview could also be the way to go, if they cant hold an English conversation for 5 minutes, they don't get a membership x" I have no control of club entry and can only post what events are on month to month. If only it was vetted and secured like Darlaston is instead of these creeps thinking sexual assault is fine because "they have paid to get in and expect sex" This is in no way applicable to the few decent and respectful regular gentlemen who do not do this type of thing 🫶🏻 " I’ve always found less single guys on Fridays than Saturdays due to the membership restrictions. This was one reason I was never keen on a Saturday but my ex partner loved a Saturday until one evening when we had an unlocked door and the room just filled up with about 15 single guys. It was extremely off putting and uncomfortable… that changed his mind and we got a Friday membership. Single guys are fine as long as they’re polite, chatty and respectful of boundaries, but sadly the idiots do ruin it for the genuine ones. " There were some nice, chatty, polite single guys there & I could see they were very much welcomed by some of the couples & ladies. It all depends on how you conduct yourself, if you're chatty, polite & non pushy there should be no reason why you wouldn't be welcomed. You cannot make assumptions and it strikes me as if you have no knowledge of the the club scene and I would encourage you to find out for yourself. Without "single men" clubs would not function. Primarily due to the revenue they produce, and the entrant need for male and female interaction for them to function. | |||

" 💯 I've met some absolutely lovely single guys at the club, when there as a single and with my partner. So long as you go with the right attitude (just saying generally, not aimed at the single guy who has perceived the club as being unwelcoming for single guys from the comments), make the effort to chat (it's as nerve racking for us women too) then you'll reap the benefits. I attend regularly now, and always have a decent night, even if it's only for social and not play. 😊 | |||

The 'old me' would be piling in with an opinion on the rest of the conversation but one thing I will say is that CJ does NOT run the club and does NOT have any control over how it functions, whom they let in or any other issue. The simple fact is that he is a highly valued member of the community and spends an awful lot of his own free unpaid time promoting what is the last bastion of swinging clubs in Wales. Because without Chams Newport on a Friday night, we're all screwed if we don't want to drive over the bridge to somewhere else . I once went with a partner who didn’t respect me or the environment, and demanded I ‘find someone for him to enjoy’ because of ‘everything I let you do’ the week before. This is the type of attitude that gives single men a bad name. I’ve also seen a single, older guy who goes there regularly. On my first visit he complimented the ‘show’ I put on (I used to always play with an open door because that fed my exhibitionist side). The next time I saw him he’d been watching my ex partner and I and followed me out when we had finished with the comment ‘so I don’t get a go then?!’ I also had a single guy follow me and my ex partner everywhere, invade our personal space and acted exactly as you’ve said - with the attitude of ‘I’ve paid so I’m entitled’. It also didn’t help that that particular night was extremely quiet and I think I was one of 6 women there which didn’t help. Unfortunately, a lot of the time when these types of guys are mentioned and pointed out to club staff, nothing is done, which puts a lot of people off returning because it’s the same offenders over and over again (the above have been mentioned and pointed out yet I still see them frequenting the club). Although to be fair, these incidents happened on Friday night with the ‘guest’ single men, but a lot more happened on the Saturdays than Fridays, because the single guys who have membership are genuinely invested in being a part of the scene as opposed to being entitled to sex because they pay a membership. However, in the single guys corner, I’ve had ‘genuine’ members of the scene that don’t put effort into getting a Friday membership also behave inappropriately and abuse the fact that women (and couples) may not see them as a direct threat simply because they’re ‘regulars’ in the scene and go to socials and are well known. These men can often be worse than the random single guys who don’t interact with the scene, because if you know them because they’re regulars, then you often tend to trust them a bit more because they’re ’well known’ to people | |||

The simple fact is that he is a highly valued member of the community and spends an awful lot of his own free unpaid time promoting what is the last bastion of swinging clubs in Wales. Because without Chams Newport on a Friday night, we're all screwed if we don't want to drive over the bridge to somewhere else .

Feel free to correct me if the comments made are ill informed! Can only comment on what’s been said previously but also many more have fantastic times so it doesn’t bother them! But all single guys are seeming to be looked at the same which is also unfair. And that’s from someone who is doing their own bit to try and enhance the scene! At no point have I said any comments are unwelcome or anyone should keep their mouths shut! I’ve expressed how the comments of how some behave puts me off going, as don’t want to a) be seen in that light and b) be made to feel uncomfortable while attending because that’s how males are viewed! The comments have been reassuring in thst if you do behave appropriately, of which I know I will, then the welcome will be fine and you’ll have a great time Thst is reassuring to know, and when I do get the opportunity to go, I look forward to being then able to make that judgement solely for myself! | |||

"I find the conversation of single men not being made welcome ironic after the many comments above wanting more decent single men! As all the comments have said, it’s the quality of *some men attending which, if you know you hold yourself to a good standard then you’ll be very welcome and do just fine! If you ever decide to come to any club you’ll soon realise the type of man labelled wanking dead which is across all clubs even abroad and not just Newport. You’ll also see the amount of men breaking the simplest of etiquettes. There are however many many single men I’ve crossed paths with over the years who are undeniably good characters and get a whole lot of fun out of the evenings " The number of good single men do outweigh the bad. It’s just a shame that memberships are so limited to these guys because of the amount of the wanking dead and the single guys that are just entitled with the attitude of ‘I’ve paid so I get’. It’s also a shame these guys are concerned about going because of the way a lot single men are perceived because of the bad ones. It’s frustrating the club (and members) can’t come up with a way of obtaining more single male memberships, getting the good ones in but with a way of putting off the bad ones. I think that’s why a lot of the good ones sign up for couples memberships, and I don’t think it’s fair the female can use it to go solo, but the guys can’t. Maybe that’s something that could change which would encourage more couples memberships where single men are treated as equals to the single ladies on their couples membership? | |||
