i drive and deliver for a living all over s wales and the west. everyday i see some horrendous standards of driving. today i saw

4 vehicles parked on zig zag lines

numerous examples of cars in loading bays

at the supermarket disabled drivers parking in mother and toddler spaces and visa versa

so the question is when parking up do you consider if you are allowed to park there or is it a case of i am alright jack

main reason for this rant i had a parking ticket today i tried to explain to the warden that if i could have parked legally i would have but the loading bay had cars in there

I get more pissed off by people who park smack bang in the middle of two parking spaces.

try living or driving past a infant/junior school - parents and child minders are parked up over yellow lines, zig zags all sorts, and this is 2 times a day every school day.

forcing 2 way traffic into just 1 usable lane - no wonder children get knocked down outside schools.

I think we could all write a huge list of things that irritate us about driving , for me the worst is people who enter a roundabout in the left hand lane when they're going straight on , cut right over to the right hand lane cos they can't be bothered to drive around the correct lane , then cut right back across to the left to leave the roundabout , all without a glance in the mirror , I've lost count of the times I've nearly been side swiped cos they think they're the only feckers on the roundabout

So you decided to park illegally and got a ticket

Loading bays are for loading, so who's to say that these cars were not loading?

They mostly likely were using it as free parking, but how does the warden not know that?

Where you WERE parked illegally hence the issued ticket.

no you misunderstand me the cars (saloon) were in a goods vehicle loading bay. so i had to park on DYLs to deliver i showed the warden my delivery invoice and he made an entry into his machine

That's a different matter if the bays are for Goods vehicles only. I would have parked in the road with my hazards on and told the warden to book every one of the cars, while recording it on my phone.

They tend to jump when you cause a fuss and block a carriage way

As for the ticket I would challenge it making note of the wardens actions and circumstances.

However its easy to say do this and do that in hindsight. The fact was you did park where you were able to be issued a ticket unfair yes also illegal!

It's school that gets me, people who would scream blue murder and leap to the defence is someone tried to abduct on of the kids leaving the school, are perfectly happy to put the same child at immense risk on the road to park 2.3 inches closer to the school gates

Ok we all have our own little bugs as pointed out we all do stuff whilst driving and parking which will irritate other motorists we aren't perfect drivers. A few people have mentioned indicators so you indicate 100% of the time I have never come across anyone that does and until the law changes it will always be the case that some people will never know what that little switch on the steering column does and for those who have never found it its more commonly behind the steering wheel on the left but some manufacturers place it in the right and can be reached with an out stretched finger

Going by personal experience I find elderly drivers far more dangerous than young drivers.

Does the driver behind me really believe that driving extremely close to my rear bumper is going to make the vehicle in front of me drive any faster?
