Welsh swinging scene

Having just commented on another post and recently read online, I have been lead to believe that wales doesn’t have much of a swinging scene.

With champs being the only swingers club in wales ( that I know of ) I am starting to believe that this is true.

Does wales have a poor alternative lifestyle community or would you guys agree it’s thriving and lots of people there just hiding behind closed doors

It's not "behind closed doors". And it's 'Chams' by the way, shortform of 'Chameleons' and you wouldn't believe how many verified valuable community members can be so damned racist against someone when you get it wrong. Honestly it's as bad as putting milk in your tea before hot water. But the fact remains, once they have made their mind up about something so trivial, it's gonna stick. At least until you make them a damned good cup of tea.

The problem is not unique to Wales. What makes Wales a bit different from everywhere else is that the community is generally 'small' in that it numbers maybe one to two thousand people and when you factor in that almost all of them have already met each other one way or another (that does NOT imply that we are all fucking!) at a social or in a club, there really isn't much else to do past that point with those people if they are not what's desired on either side. And then what. We all go quiet until we get the right mood or the right opportunity and then we come alive. I strongly believe that's why the social scene is so busy here and why you witness so many 'regulars' attending. You have to be in it to win it, and with such small numbers (maybe I was harsh with the earlier numbers) compared to the 2.5million people allegedly here in Wales, it makes sense to me that it can appear to be harder or that there isn't 'a community' here. It's a lottery.

I can assure you that there definitely is. It's just about figuring out how to make it accessible for you and the others you're interested in .

Wales, at least down in the South West, has a great swinging scene / swinging community, providing you put in the effort.

Having moved here 18 months ago I can confirm that, yes there’s less numbers, but those in the community are just as friendly and responsive as anywhere else in the UK

Not living in the UK

We lived in Newport for 5 years or so a few years back and found the scene in South Wales very active.

We met some great people in a social and play way.

Massive apologies to everyone whose world was turned upside down by my phone’s outrageous autocorrect — turning the sacred term “Chams” into the blasphemous “Champs.” Thank you, Lord and Lilla, for heroically pointing out this catastrophic error. I’m sure the entire community was thrown into a state of utter confusion, wandering the streets in despair, unsure what I could possibly have meant.

Just to clarify for those still reeling: yes, I did mean Chams, short for chameleons

And when I said “behind doors,” I wasn’t referring to some secret society — just that it’s not as loudly discussed here as in other places I’ve lived. But clearly, subtlety doesn’t travel well with autocorrect. My sincerest condolences to all affected.

Thanks. Worked quite a bit in Castle Martin I agree with you and have had some quality time in Pembroke and Tenby.

Are you in a sort of circle of friends or do you find new comers joining the scene regularly

I did a search earlier for research and used the lowest ages and it appears that younger generation are joining so I repeated the search with older ages and it does look like a active community across wales at all ages.

I would suggest your profile is a glaring reason you're finding it so hard, no image, been on a year but no verified meet that is visible, all red flags to mark and avoid

Sarcasm. Cute. Implies intelligence because of the math involved but with us and because of other connotations - irrespective of everything else, it's a hard no from us. We've already made that choice for you if you hadn't already done so.

I had a whole blistering character assassination written but deleted it. Happy Fabbing and hope you get some answers that benefit you because you are clearly someone we would walk away from within 2 minutes of meeting you face to face . And I will sign off as I am and not hide behind the 'safety' of a couple profile.

Thanks for your reply and I take your points on board.

I have hidden my verifications and not displayed my profile picture solely for the purpose of discretion while I was away for several years.

Only recently have I settled down back in my home town and started using fabs again.

Rather than using a new profile and starting again I have just logged back in but I agree with you if the red flags are there for you, then avoid untill your comfortable.

And again thanks for taking the time to respond.

Thank you for your reply

Hi Lord Marmite,

The sarcasm was just a reflection — not a flex. If basic mirroring reads as intelligence, I’ll take the compliment.

Anyway, your reaction says more than I ever needed to. No hard feelings.

The scene is alive and well, but you need to put some effort in. Single males massively outnumber everyone else, so you can't expect things to just fall into your lap.

A good profile, with decent pics helps, as does engaging with social events etc. It's always going to be tougher for us due to umber and the sheer amount of time wasters, but it's definitely not a dead scene in South Wales.

Oh don't worry we planned to, the profile and your attitude in this thread are a clear avoid message to all who are actually understand the scene on this platform

Buckley North Wales

North East Wales has great access to clubs in England. Town House - Birkinhead, GG's - Runcorn, Club Alchemy - Northwich. Plus events like the Chester Social.

It simply wouldn't work. We just don't have the numbers as it is visiting our only club so what makes you think another will succeed? Remember its a business and has to make money.

Thing is though CJ, chams in Newport needs a complete overhaul to attract more people. Friends who have visited from areas across the bridge have said they wouldn't return as it's dingy and seedy. It needs to be more appealing to get the people in. I rarely go there and prefer to visit other places. I'm not knocking the people that go there, as I've met some really great people there. Just my opinion,

How do you know it wouldn’t work if it hasn’t been tried

Been a long time since I have frequented any clubs but I think an Xtasia type club in Cardiff or Swansea would go down an absolute storm
