"Thought so too, but evidently not. Get a lot of messages from unverified accounts that are not that old. Had to verify our couples and solo accounts before doing anything on here, but seems a bit hit and miss. Know we can turn them messages off, but still." I didn't have to photo verify either of my profiles

"I'm not photo verified.. but i have reliable verifications published, so don't see the need" I’m not photo verified either and never have been . I don’t even look for it on others profiles. I look at meet veris and yes I don’t show mine I know. My choice as there are to many nosy buggers on here ![]()

"Are there any good, genuine excuses for a profile to not be at least photo verified. Do others, like us, think something isn't right with the profile (fake couple accounts, men pretending to be women), or that there genuinely are reasons for the reluctance?" Well if fab ever gets hacked the hackers will have email addresses and face photos for some people. I think a lot of the unverified are either just browsing and perving or the "meet now suck and go" types.

"Single male, not so bothered because it’s unlikely to be a woman faking it. " Yeah, because women don't fake anything, ever ![]()

I've tried a few times but somehow it never worked for me every time I've tried 🤷

" and a site supporter usually helps as wasters won’t pay and using a credit card shows it’s a real person. " There is no differentiation in the symbol of Site Supporter based on the payment method. It can be paid for via a mobile phone bill as a premium text message, or by debit card and if my memory serves me, PayPal. None of the alternative payment methods to which you have suggested are traceable by the site. Because mobile numbers and their bills are very easily spoofed, PayPal dictates anonymity between the other two parties involved, etc). There is no difference shown by any of these methods in the Site Support badge. There are potential legal implications if you yourself have paid subscription to the site using a credit card, but without trawling through the Terms and Conditions of the End User Licence Agreement (you know, that annoying little box we all ticked without checking first what it actually said) then I will not say anything sounding like you have credit card protection for purchases. That's for lawyers or other people who have more time on their hands than I do right now. I am always happy to be the advocate of the basic general advice that if someone has been verified in person by 'reputable' people who are well known enough to the degree that you can trust them to be reputable people themselves in giving that verification, it's usually not a bad place to start. Of course tastes vary, moods vary, what's good for one isn't good for anyone else and vice versa. There is no long and short version solution to this particular problem, but the new laws coming in the UK in July 2025 can go a very very long way to either strengthening the community (by ing out the chaff) or destroying it because even long-standing established respected community members choose to not accept the new rules. But either way, having to prove that members are over 18 by UK Government approved means will help a lot. Because then there is a record. And those of us who are willing to meet the new rules can judge the site on how the site applies the rules (prevention of re-offending bad people, people who are constantly being banned, people with no concept of the site's intention etc) Sorry for getting political but I don't fancy having to submit my legal ID to watch Xham---r on an Incognito browser with all my bookmarks for my own private personal use. But I can see why it helps in this situation and the juxtaposition is not lost on me. Apologies for the lengthy and probably unrelatable comments. -Lord.
