Can somebody please organise a social up here in the sticks lol, the logistics of going to Swansea, Cardiff, Newport or Bridgend is a nightmare for us, I'm sure there are loads of places in the Merthyr area that would love a room full of people drinking, loads of hotels and a train/bus station near. Just a thought xx

Logistics?

You get in a car and drive?

We travel to the socials, (as much as 55 miles) its not difficult, we do have to book a hotel to stay over as driving back at silly o'clock is out of the question for safety, plus it can be fun smuggling people back into our room for some "apres-social" fun lol!

But, if thats too much for you, then why ask someone else to organize it, why not do it yourself?

The keyboard warriors are off, obviously you got nothing else better to do than TRY to ruffle feathers. What exactly did we say that offended you and made you feel the need to spout out some crap about travelling 85 miles??? What the actual fuck?

Blackpool

Sounds like a good idea for an area for a meet .... But the valleys are close nit communities and so crowds gather when the secret is out . Unlike cities like Cardiff. Swansea and Newport where its a massive diversity of people .. ??

Well Swansea Social is in the community and its fine. Hire a function room in a club and you charge admission to come in from us lot and you make your money back. A social is a NO SEX get together like an anniversary party, or charity bash whatever just drink dance and chat. Lots of clubs maybe not in central towns may be good. xxx Whoever organises valleys social count me and my fab mates in and will help if we can Cat

If you take a look, its 55.

I wasn't having a pop, just saying that, as logistics go, travelling to the main socials from you, is easier than the distances others, i.e. us, have to travel.

But the point I made about organising your own social still stands. Too many people (again, not having a pop at the OP) are happy to attend these events, or criticise them, but when it comes time to get their hands dirty, suddenly they don't want to know.

You get out what you put in.

Believe me it's not easy organising a social. Trying to find a venue just the right size is one. You may get a large venue and think your going to fill it, but believe me people do drop out, especially at the last minute. You also need to hope that you get the right mix of people, to many singles can be off putting for SOME people, but not everyone.

Agree with Mart, we live in Llanelli and are regulars at the Cardiff social and it has been known for us to attend a "munch" in Bristol on the rare occasion. Get in the car and drive, it is fun and hotels aside abstain from drinking and drive home.

On the other hand however, as another reply says have a go at organising on e yourself, I really do appreciate the logistics of organising socials as have done dozens myself. It is not hard, just awkward as discretion is everything. Please feel free to mail me (Mick aka Steel) if you want any advice, help or guidance, always willing to help out as new areas are new playgrounds full of new people. Let the happy times roll and good luck
