Ok, so have taken the plunge (no pun intended, lol), and have splashed out (ok, so pun intended this time) and bought myself a paddle board.

Apart from the sea, does anyone in South Wales have recommendations on good places to go with it - lakes, rivers, etc, ie where others go?

Lliw reservoirs you can self launch there too and there’s a group on fb where you can meet up and go on group paddles, I’ve not had the chance to go out on mine yet either

Carmarthenshire

There's some good places to launch in Cardigan on the Teifi. Lovely river to paddle, with a few places to practice skills too.

Scott's Bay, just around from Llansteffan beach when the tide is in is also a good place - gives you options depending on currents and weather to explore further around too.

Loads of good places, just make sure you have a licence to use the waterway ok nobodies likely to stop you, thats what i thought but I went on the wye and was fined. Also if you go on a reservoir again check it's OK to use for recreation some are not for your safety more than anything else.
