This is a question in general anyway as my tattoos have been short periods of time - what happens if you can’t take anymore during a long time slot? That concern has always stopped me hahaha! Never needed to stop during a tattoo but it niggles in my brain when it’s more than an hour slot haha!

Sideline question, wouldn’t the person who has your slot need to have the exact same tattoo you were gonna have?

More than an hour slot niggles you ??? In the nicest possible way man up hahaha ..... last one for me was nearly 6 hours and could have sat for much longer

Ive never known a tattooist who refuses to rearrange a tattoo with over 48 hours notice, under that yes. Id like to know who they are so I can avoid them.

Hahaha it could be that I could happily sit there for 6 hours as well, it’s just that ‘not knowing’ of when the threshold maxes out that causes me the concern personally, not the thought of it happening for that long! My first was an hour and I could have continued longer than that comfortably - did you have ink for shorter periods and each time go for a longer time slot? Eg I find I can have two cartilage piercings at a time just fine, three at the same time and the third one hurts more than it should because of the nerve receptors firing off, so for comfort levels I’ve never attempted four (the newest needs 4 cartilage piercings in total so I had 2 which when healed enough I’ll then have the other 2 done to complete it), just not sure how the tattoo timeslots work in that principle due to inexperience of trying longer timeslots (but would love to if I knew it wouldn’t be a sudden unbearable moment part way through)

With my own tattoos first one was about 90 mins and had a 3 hour piece. Last one was a day booked out.

The wondrous thing with tattooing is after the initial 30 or so mins the endorphins kick in and the pain becomes like a dull scratch.

Could just be me and my high pain threshold. It's also very dependent on area being inked.

Go for it .... no pain no gain they say
