Does anybody still wink? Or is it a lazy way to try and grab attention? I still love reciving winks

Winks are wasted on me. I do think they're a lazy way of showing interest and don't often send one back.

I like a good wink - had some good interactions and the odd meet from winking.

I like winks, I can check out the account without worrying if I get abuse for ignoring a message.

For me, I struggle to write a first message, and women and couples get bombarded anyway with messages, so a wink is a great way to show initial interest

We wink at people we are interested in, then if they wink back we'll send a message.

It let's us know there is mutual interest

I often send a wink to show interest and if there’s a wink back or a fab back then follow up with a message!

Saves overwhelming already full mailboxes that way

I think a wink is quite a good way of showing interest, especially if your a little shy or not quite sure what to write in a message, because saying hi or hello is somewhat frowned upon.

Am yet to receive a wink. Sent a few out, nothing seems to materialise from them (in my case anyway).

I like to receive a wink, it's often a good conversation starter.

I'd rarely send one though, I figure women are inundated with winks and messages on here.

Yeh we tend to send a wink to show interest in profile as said previously people can have multiple messages on a daily show send a wink to show interest and if a wink back happy days if not then saves messaging

I used to bulk delete them without viewing, and I said that at the top of my profile. I even put that in my status at one point I think! There was just a stage where I had loads, but didn't see the point.

Then weirdly I realised I was starting to used them myself every now and again..

I think they are actually quite useful for 'poking' people who you think there may be an outside chance they are into what you are into etc (or might travel etc).

Of course you are taking a chance on them seeing the winks, but sometimes that doesn't matter.

Also, I have an old dom who winks at me every now and again just to say that he's about! -pt

I love a wink and do it to show interest….some consider lazy but I feel if a wink is reciprocated then it makes the opening message less pressurised and easier!!

We don’t mind winks and sometimes we do wink back if interested/intrigued. However we prefer someone to have read our profile and send a sensible message with recent photos as this grabs our attention much more

I often receive winks from couples. Whenever I’ve dropped them a message as a follow up they never email back - that makes the wink frustrating!!
