Was going to have a weekend away in Wales at the end of May but didn’t know what place was better to go to. So what would people recommend out of Swansea and Cardiff. Thanks in advance to those who help

Port Talbot

Depends what you're looking for, shopping and nightlife then Cardiff. Swansea has some great beaches and countryside near it if you want that.

It’s more of a getaway for me. I don’t mind a night out but I’m ok with somewhere chilled but I’ve heard good things about both but if you say the nightlife is better in Cardiff then it looks like I’ll go there

Much more to do in Cardiff, better hotels, better nightlife, better restaurants.

Only thing you need is the weather.

South/Mid Wales

Better shopping in Cardiff, more entertainment in terms of shows etc. I personally prefer Swansea Wind street for a night out over Cardiff albeit I've not been for a number of years now (that makes me feel both old and sad lol)

Cardiff or even Newport isn't much better in that regard

Swansea is smaller that Cardiff so has less options. Wind Street used to be a crazy night out. Haven't been there for over 10 years so no idea what it's like now. If it isn't great unlike Cardiff there aren't many other places.

The marine and beach are an easy walk from the centre of Swansea. Cardiff has the bay which you'd need to get transport down to.

london/cardiff

I had seven weeks in swansea recently, staying in a hotel where i found swansea to be the worst area i have experienced for meets. I work uk wide so i can make comment on good and bad experience. swansea and area is full time wasters galore. I had met up with one couple and two single females in total so thanks to them being the genuine ones. As for the others who were all for it and and arranged times to arrive, i would say 20 plus.

I attended the swansea social the one night. i clocked a couple of time wasters present there and i was glad they did fail to turn up. As for the social itself. I was in and out in ten minutes.

My advice, Cardiff 100%. i'm from cardiff and i do pretty well. Different calibre of people.

Thanks for the tips and recommendations. I’ll definitely be going to Cardiff after that
