"I lost 5 stone 6 years ago and have pretty much kept it off bar for the odd few pounds on and off here and there. I was a massive cider drinker, would drink 5/6 cans a night. Stopped that, switched to wine. Cut back on heavy carbs. Train in the gym 5/6 days a week. My diet is shit sometimes especially before I come on etc but I seem to be able to get away with it for the most part with a lot of exercise and eating decently the rest of the time. Good luck " This is really helpful thank you so much! I'm on atm and I'm craving everything.

"I’ve lost 8 stone from my heaviest and keeping it off. I use the My Fitness Pal app to set myself a daily calorie target and eat what I like within that. I record everything I eat or drink except when on a night out. Happy to show you it sometime. Also move more if you can. In lockdown I started power walking and did at least 5 miles, 4 or 5 miles a week. I still try and do a 5 miler at least three times a week. Hope this is of some help " This is really helpful to, you look amazing and I was in awe when saw you . Thank you! X

"I feel your pain. I put on a couple of stone in my mid 50's and it's hell to shift. I'm fine in the house, if there's nothing naughty to eat. When I go shopping I'm careful not to pick up crap. But my problem is at work where people bring cakes, sweets and chocolate. " I work from home full time so got constant access to my own food and I'm telling you now it's not good X

I'm moving next week with a plan to stay afresh with only good stuff to eat & back to walking the dogs. If I can do it anyone can X

"Firstly please be kind in comments. I'm wondering if those who have successfully lost weight through healthy and sustainable ways could offer advice or tips. I have around two stone to lose, and when I'm good I'm good but when shit hits the fan I completely come off track. Not looking for a fast or quick way of doing this either. I know it is a personal choice but you are absolutely stunning as you are too. Thanks!"

It all begins in the mind, this is key. We all want to loose weight but it has to be a driven passion. I went on diets for years but gave up. Then in 2019 it clicked, I lost 6 stone. Here are my tips: 1. Swap white carbs for grains, cous cous, quinoa 2. Measure portions 3. Eaten your smaller portion and still feel hungry? Sit it out. Your body takes longer than your mind, you will feel full after a few minutes. 4. Fruit and veg as snacks 5. Cut fat off meat and ditch the oil when cooking. 6. Exercise but don’t push yourself. I started with morning short walks now run 6 miles a day (I love it, less so would be fine) 7. Don’t restrict, a new diet is hard. Do 5 days good and let loose a bit for two days. I don’t mean gorge just have some treats. 8. Lastly don’t punish yourself for a mistake. When you do you are further on than you were. Draw a line and move on It takes time but when you see those first changes, looser clothes or a change on the scales, you’ll be motivated to continue. Good luck!

Hormones are an absolute fucking nightmare on appetite, I'm peri-menopausal aswell and it plays absolute havoc with this compulsion to eat absolutely anything even though I am not hungry especially crap and I retain loads of water especially if I have ben eating salty food . If I was a bloke I would easily be a size 8

"The theory is simple burn more than you consume However a lot can affect that, the best way to begin is making small choices. Implement them slowly For example, going from 2 sugars to 1, a few days later increase your daily steps to 10,000 Making too many changes too soon can be a lot of change for the body and mind. Small changes made slowly lead to better long term success Ultimately getting Into shape requires routine and new habits, ideally a gym would be the best path, with a well written programme or great classes You’ll drop the weight you require " This is great advice
