We live in the middle of nowhere , but are willing to travel and book hotels , why is distance “ local only “ etc , an issue to so many ???

Some people dislike hotels.

Some people are married and cant sneak off far.

Some people don't drive.

Some people want a quick, frequent arrangement during the week.

Take your pick?

Tonypandy.

I don't drive. I don't want to be traveling miles just for a social or to be stood up.

Dislike hotels … fair enough

Don’t want to drive … we would do the travelling/ driving to potential meets , social or play , because we realise we’re miles from anywhere !

I’m also in a very rural area, so I accept the fact that travelling is my best option. I have discussed the reluctance of others to meet people who travel and the main reasons I’ve heard for those that don’t meet people who aren’t local are…

A) They prefer local because they’re not interested in one off encounters, having someone local makes repeat meets far easier

B) There is more chance of a no show with someone travelling

The best way is to make connections with people and chat for a while. This way you’re able to reassure them that you’re actually willing to put the effort in and actually meet

You're not far from me geographically, but the roads mean it is easily an hours drive.

Everyones needs and wants are different I guess.

Some People work full time and have differing shifts.

So for me to go to Chester, spending 4 hours travelling for an hour social on a work night would be difficult.

Others try arrange meets around child care, and don't want to go far.

Whereas others want nothing to do with locals.

After saying what we are saying and finding things tricky , we are pretty careful around locals

I live near ebbw vale but am finding it quite barren even though I'm happy to travel or accommodate.

I did try the phone app thing and was shocked at how many blokes within 1 mile are on fab. Must be 50 or more!

Poor ladies

Distance is more of a guideline for me really... I don't mind travelling if someone really catches my eye.

That's true. Newtown is probably about an hour and half from where I am.

I personally prefer nice hotels on the first meet. I'm not talking premier inns more like the Hilton or St Davids, not as expensive as you would think .

Arrange to meet in the bar I've a few drinks and see were it goes. Ive booked a room on my phone while sitting in the bar on a number of occasions.

I think this is more exciting than meeting at someone's house.

Local in rural areas means that you are more likely to meet someone you know or has a connection to you.

I have similar issues or get messages from Scotland, Ireland or Newcastle!!
