Fucking shit news, passed away in his sleep in Peru, during a charity trek, aged 65

Pity

Pain in the arse at times but an absolute iconic voice of Welsh Rugby

Sleep Well Ed

Can't believe the news. Wasn't always a fan of him commentating with Brian Moore but his voice and voiceovers were instantly recognisable.

RIP big man

He had a very distinctive voice, didnt always agree with him as he often seemed very anti-Welsh / pto-England but nontheless a sad loss for rugby.

RIP

Couldn't have put it better myself. He was marmite in my life, growing up in the 90's, I never saw him in his palying day. His partnership with Brian Moore was brilliant, though I mostly sided with "Buldog"

Inarguably a great man, who offered so much to the world of rugby and broadcasting, in general.

RIP Eddie

Absolute nonsense which five minutes of googling would have dispelled.

Yeah, given his political involvement in recent years, that’s way wide of the mark

Loved his commentary especially with Brian Moore perfect double act! He was a very knowledgeable about the game and his comments would always be controversial to some.

I am old enough to remember him as a player not gifted but knew what it took to play in that pontypool pack.

He was a lesser player and captain, a not such a good commentator and turned over to independence to curry favour. I mourn his passing but let's not eulogise his death into something it was not

Hmmmm, that's pretty bitter.

He played at the very highest level, his commentary gave us iconic lines that are often repeated to this day, he was a widely respected journalist, wrote novels, was multilingual and received a degree from the University of Cambridge.

If that's not worthy of respect then I'm not sure what is.

He played and was captain when pooler where arguably the best club side in the northern hemisphere. Your comments just come across like you're just a bitter one eyed Jack
