Barry Island, so much glass on beach

Went to Barry Island the other day n could not believe the amount of broken glass n general rubbish on the beach.

Walked over to where the rocks stick out on the right, rubbish, cans, bottles n bottle tops everywhere, was disgusting. Broken glass wedged between the rock n glass in the rock pools, never seen anything that bad in my life on a beach.

There should be undercover litter warden's giving out fines to these fucking pricks making beaches unsafe for kids.

Also would like to say as you will get some idiot commenting, it is not down to the local council to clean up after people use the beach.

You take full bottles, can or whatever, its then your responsibility to take it back home with you.

So if you got kids, best avoid Barry Island beach, maybe go to Porthcawl.

I was there today and the amount of rubbish that other people left on the beach is disgusting.

Also found a fair amount of glass in the centre of the beach too.

Alot of locals go down before the tide and clear up as much as they can, again its shouldn't need doing if the savages took the crap they bought with them home.

in the deep mist of the valleys

Hence I prefer Jackson Bay, it's cleaner and so far, I have been lucky not to experience any idiots.

Why we avoid Barry island as much as possible. People cannot grasp if they carry stuff to the beach, they can carry it back. Unfortunately, the generations following us lack a lot of pride. Always head west to ogmore or monknash.

well said and thoroughly agree litter police would be good thing.

If people take stuff to beach they should take it home with them or at least put it in the bin, don't think they would like it if they stepped on glass but maybe that would be good if it happened to them.

grrrrr

Can't really let the kids pick up litter when there is so much broken glass, plus people should be taught to clean up there own rubbish.

Should have cameras over looking the beach n as soon as someone leave the beach n leave there rubbish behind then they should be given on the spot fines n also made to clean up there rubbish

I went last night, beach was clean and clear of glass. But a Wednesday night compared to how it's going to be after a possibly busy bank holiday weekend is two different things.
