Hi all,

Any park runners here ?

I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for runs ? I've done Swansea and Llanelli to death and fancy a new course.

Any recommendations ?

Thanks

Hiya,

I’m a pretty committed park runner. We’re based in Cardiff but I like to travel around when I can so I’ve gone as far west as Gnoll and east as Severn Bridge with a few in the South West for good measure.

What sort of thing are you looking for? Maesteg is certainly more undulating than Swansea if that’s your thing!

Thanks for the reply. Just looking for somewhere a little different to be honest. I dont mind hills but id rather be flat(ish) until my achilles is 100% recovered.

Gnoll, Brynaman, Maesteg, Porthcawl all reasonably local.

There is one set to start in Ynystawe soon too

No problem.

If you download the 5k app you can see a list of all parkruns and record your results/achievements etc

Is there any park runs around the Newport area?

"Is there any park runs around the Newport area?"

There are quite a few around Newport area. All can be found on the parkrun website or via the parkrun 5k app.

There's one at Riverfront, or Tredegar House, also Cwmbran, Pontypool, Cwm Cefn Pwll Du

Didn't know you could cycle around it. I was told they stopped that due to so many using it to walk

I like to tour but staying local to Cardiff with the price of fuel at the moment.

Really enjoy Trelai Park as it’s challenging and quiet. Will probably be going to Tremorfa tomorrow

Cardiff

When I used to do it religiously, Tredegar House in Newport was my home park run and it's still my favourite one because of the varied terrain and beautiful setting. I also liked Barry. If you want to do a fast one, try Riverside in Newport as it's all pavement and flat.

Ammanford

I have done Brynamman a couple times, it's a lovely route through a woodland that follows a river, it is mostly on tarmac path. Always had a very warm welcome.
