Explain this to me, Wales, do you use winks as a way of saying 'hey, I'm interested...are you?' Or just as a way of logging a nod.

I don't respond to winks so just curious if it's some new form of Welsh etiquette.

For me, I totally get that most women/couples are inundated with messages and siftinng through them all probably gets a bit tiring.

I usually send a wink to let them know i’m interested, if I get a wink back it’s a green light to make the first move and send a message.

It means that they can check out my profile and decide whether they want to chat or not without feeling obligated to engage in yet another conversation. If they don’t like what they see, everybody can move on without the rejection that some find awkward, win-win!

I much prefer a wink to a message. If I am interested I wink back or send a message.

If I say no thank you to a message I've generally 9/10 has abuse for not dropping my knickers for them.

Never had that problem of being too inundated. And I'm glad I don't; I'll leave that to the popular crowd. But am finding more winks than messages lately

Maybe you are all just too polite.

Is the way I use winks, very strict filters to keep the inbox down & wink to see if there's mutual interest. I find it a much easier, non pushy way to test the water. I respond to winks more than messages X

We use the wink system as "showing interest" so if we wink somebody they have peaked our interest and the other way around we will check out and respond appropriately to those who wink us

I find winks far more useful for shoing interest.

Many single females and couples have so many messages im sure it is far better to browse winks than to read every message.

As we say in our heading a message is worth more than a wink, with a message you can gauge the interest by the context of the message, one liners or very few words means they haven’t taken the time to read the profile. We use to respond to winks but never got anything back so now when we get a wink we wait to see if they read the profile and send a message.

We tend to use winks to show them we like their profile and would like to chat more .Sometimes we might forget to check our winks and respond a few months later but better late than never ..

I prefer the wink system to be honest.

Works both ways, if someone winks and you like their profile, you can wink back and potentially message, it's like a first step process.

If I send a wink and don't receive one back, then I know there is no point in messaging that profile.

Works for me anyway

Having in he past taken lots of time and effort to send genuine individual messages which were just getting lost and unopened amongst the masses, I now usually wink if I'm interested.

If I get a wink or message back I take it as a greenlight to commence the conversations.

This avoids me spending hrs wasting time writing messages that are never seen or opened.

XxX
