cut and paste messages

I see a lot of status updates moaning about cut and paste messages, to be fair not something I personally would entertain doing, I feel it is disrespectful to contact someone with a generic message that has been trotted out to others.

That said I am curious as to how people know a message is a cut and paste? I mean how would you know you are not the only recipient of a message?

Please don't freaking flay me like the last time I tried to raise debate, I am genuinely curious as to how people identify a message as "generic"

Lol, love the last part about getting flayed , I remember that discussion and u certainly did get a lot of flak ,a lot of it uncalled for I thought , as for cut and paste most of the messages we get off guys only consist of a few words , usually "fancy a fuck " or "great tits " , hardly worth cutting and pasting that

Her has a singles profile too so we regularly see exactly the same message twice. Shows an incredible lack of thought on their part, and makes us wonder how many people they've sent that exact same message too.

yeah cheers, I suppose if you are lazy enough to just write fancy a fuck then it's a fair bet that you are lazy enough to cut and paste it lol

On the subject of status's and moaning, I have a little whinge, perhaps I should create a new thread, I don't mean to derail this one.

I see status's where girls say 'they will reply' if a pic is attached'. The kind of profile she has usually has no pics, or at least no face pics. Whilst asking for someone genuine and not a time waster.

I write a message, attach my facepic, check 'sent' box and I see 'read/ deleted'. I dont send another message but if I did it would be along the lines of. 'Sorry to have wasted your time and doing as asked'.

Its my first forum post, sorry if it belongs in its own thread.

Ohh crickey Im going to watch my back.

Or I will end up with a status dedicated to me.

That will be my first post 'topic' I think.

Something along the lines of 'Thanks for telling us'.

Btw, I ment 'Profile' not 'Status' in my very first paragraph.

Start how I mean to go on eh?

Can understand the party invites, as you're hoping to have a large number reply to you. But the cut and paste message that some people send, the same message that they send to everyone else, they're wrong. Shows lack of imagination and a lack of respect to the recipient of the message. "I really wanna meet you, but I can't be arsed to read your profile, or to type a message out specifically for you". May as well just message us that

My arguement to that though is; having read the profile word for word, put the 'trigger' word in the subject heading, and consistantly not even getting a reply, just a 'deleted' message can become frustrating at least. Yeah ok there maybe other factors you have to match, age, smokers etc, but even so I find a message without even a 'Thanks but no thanks' kind of reply just as rude.

Providing that is, you have read the profile and matches the specifics of whats asked.

On the other hand I suppose, females supposidly get hundreds of emails every day. I say females as I don't search for couples.

I suppose that leads onto another debate I have seen today, wether this is turning into a singles site rather than couples/swinging.

If you think about it sending the first message to someone is like when you apply to a job by email when you first start you are more specific and are more personal but over time you don't want to spend ages on a message so you just paste and copy a spec letter you got and attach a cv.

people should be personal with there messages and show that they have read your profile.

I know loads of people have not had much luck and have message loads of people and they just message as many people as possible hoping for some luck. I know some people on here don't like the message filters because they don't like to be blocked but I think if people more use them and with more options I think it will solve women getting too many messages and when you do message someone you have a higher success rate of having your your message read because they haven't blocked someone like you from sending messages.
