A friend of mine has expressed an interest in creating a swingers club in South wales/Cardiff. But he worries it wouldn't ve popular enough!

He has the capitol to back it all up but is a little unsure! Anyone think it would be a good idea/needed??

Was there one before down the bay ? (Before I moved to Wales) xx

We would attend. The opening of the one down the bay prompted our joining swinging sites even though we never actually made it to that club after reading bad reviews.

There was one down the bay that previously had been a massage parlour. I never got.to venture there. Some.rated it some didn't as with all places.

If it's a decent club with great facilities people will go.

Bridgend would be a perfect location just off the m4 ? Swansea and Cardiff catchment areas along with the vog and valleys

It’s a bit “small town” and dead. Discretion wouldn’t last long there.

Chams In Newport is only open to swingers on a Friday night so I think Cardiff would be ideal. Lots to do in Cardiff too if people want to make a weekend of visiting the club . Depending on where the club is in Cardiff you could be just a few minutes drive away from the motorway .

We travel to Wales a fair bit, we've met a fair few from Wales. It always really surprises us the lack of a dedicated large swingers club open throughout the week. Cardiff sounds a great location considering it's population and transportation links. Plus it's a convenient stop off for people who are travelling through.

I had been to the 1 in the bay with a female friend but think we just timed it wrong as there was 3 single guys in there nd 2 of there were doing lines. Clubs should ban all drugs... but other than that the club did have potential was a shame it shut down.

Cardiff (Home) / London (Work)

The key to a new club the management and leadership of it. There is plenty of like minded individuals and couples across Wales to support it and make it a success - we have to travel far if we want to visit a good club other than on Friday nights.

A club with great management will help make it a real success.

Cardiff would be awesome

The one in the bay had loads of great people attend but the facilities were Minimal.

Chams is ok but really dark as a venue

You would do really well I’m sure

We would love to go somewhere new that’s on our doorstep xx

I agree. Also I really don't think the owner of Chams would be bothered with the competition. He makes enough money from his other businesses to worry. Chams Newport will always do well as The Greenhouse regardless

I will keep an eye on this but I would advise you do a bit of travel and research around the UK looking at how other clubs are run.

It would be to your advantage to visit some and you might find some useful information.

I think it would be a great investment/adventure which would generate plenty interest and income if the correct premises and clientele were pursueded to attend or even invest which would be a very interesting proposition for the likes of myself. Kevin x

Again another forum post about making another club in South Wales. It's not the first and it won't be the last. For the forumites whom have been here for a few years..... Haven't we seen this all before?

Don't get me wrong. I will be wholly behind any club that wants to establish itself. I have been priviliged to have been in the background of a 999 call by some numpty who felt he was a victim of a crime when he was denied access to the last club that tried to take off in lower Cardiff. By the skin of my teeth I got the two ladies I was taking in to my car and was moving away from the club and turning right as the rapid response police approached the same junction from the front. Thank god for blacked out rear windows. It's never a good look in any circumstance to leave a situation like that with barely-clad women in your car. All because a single male thought he had automatic rights to enter the club after closing and felt uncomfortable when the female 'owner' denied access as he was out of hours, let alone any other reasonable excuse to deny access to a private property.

What I am saying is, the owner of any potential venue in future has to be properly invulnerable to outside pressure. As soon as the media get wind of it, they will be all over the place like herpes. As soon as it is on social media, local counsellors will pretend to be horrified and object to anything like it when they actually are busy trying to delete their browser history after they went public about their 'opinion'.

Don't make a forum thread about it, just do it. I understand that you might want to test 'business viability', but spend a month on the Wales forum and you will see that the current opportunities for club life in Wales are almost non-existent.

There might be a reason for that reality, good or bad.

We would also attend weekly

Pain in the butt traveling everywhere , booking longer at hotels so that the alcohol is out your system before you drive home .

I would love love love a club we could go to every week that's where we live

I would love to see a new club open. Last time in Chams 3 or 4 young Somalian lads were allowed in around midnight/1am. They walked around fully clothed and stank of puff. Atmosphere was trash because of that.

It would be great if we had a Club in Cardiff. It clearly would be a monumental challenge to get it approved. But, I do think that their are enough people interested to make it viable. Something like VA or Xtasia would be great, rather than a dress down club - given the propensity for people to dress up for a normal night out, it could be a lot of fun

i would not open because the only one in wales has its ups and downs.it had to shut on saturdays when it was on friday and saturday due to lack of numbers.there simply is not enough swingers who would go regulary.

another point is clubs start well then it gets i,m not going if so and so is going etc.

run forrest run !! bad business move.

I think you weill find the club is more alive with swingers on a staurday now than it ever was

Having it in Cardiff is going to attract people from all over the counrty like some of the big clubs do in England.

If its easy to get to, they will come !

I think the person hasn't been to the club for many many years and is going on what it used to be.

If everyone supports the club and attend it, there would be suitable choice between the two

Just an observation but if you want to start any type of business you need to be 100% committed and totally confident in what you are doing.

If the person thinking about this is "a little unsure" it's very unlikely to go any further.

I think an industrial unit is best like greenhouse darlaston at least it’s not in an area where domestic properties are within close proximity

So an out of the way industrial building where the ind estate isn’t too big but big enough not to have too mush stress when visiting. There’s plenty old places that would suit. Kenfig. Margam. Port talbot. Swansea. Llanelli.
