My tastes range from Classic rock all the way through to hardcore thrash… becoming a regular festival goer (Steelhouse next month… Yay!) and usually do 4 or 5 gigs a year on top of Download etc.

You do need to stumble on it - or have it recommended - because you’ll rarely hear about it in mainstream metal circles. But it’s a bit of a rabbit-hole when you do and it always seems to lead to more and more bands!

Theres a lot more to slipknot than the rough vocals. Corey Taylor has a great voice.

I can live with *some* harsh vocals, preferably if it’s not the main vocal - quite a lot of the bands I like have a clean female lead singer and a harsh male secondary vocalist. But it sort of needs to be in small doses! But it gets tiring on the ears if there’s too much of it.

I’m really not a metalhead in the slightest. I admire some of the musicians and I love the passion its fans have for that music though. The spirit of togetherness they have.

I used to love seeing them all out in Cardiff when Septic Velociraptor, or some other band, rolled up to play in town. One of the last tribes (with plenty of misfits in, which is a massive compliment!).

Good tribes are good things.

Absolute metal head here. I used to love fucking to Metallica's Black album, or some AC/DC or DIO. Remembering The Normadie in Bangor brings back great memories of good music, good friends and great fucking. Nights out in the Normandy and Bangor led me to my first MFM threesome at 20 with an older married couple, same room fun with my girlfriend, her friend and her boyfriend and Out door fun up Bangor mountain or down by the pier on the way back home after a night out. Best times, fondly remembered, lived in Bangor between 1988 and 1994.

I used to be in a metal / punk crossover band when I was 17. We used to frequent a punk club in Cardiff called The Venue. It was a tiny place that had some great bands on.

We were all there to see Napalm Death / Extreme Noise Terror and a few others one night. But due to the time, the 1st band didn't show up. So that's how my band ended up playing on the same bill as ND & ENT. They were still sort of underground bands back in 1988.

Yes, 107,000 that year wasn't it ? Or thereabouts. I've heard estimates that go from 105,000 - 110,000.
