This is more of a rant but wondering if anyone else feels the same? I joined this site to enjoy myself, meet like minded people and just generally have a little fun. Now, I feel people exploit the site to promote their personal accounts on other platforms. I have no intention of paying to see naked pictures of you when I can just look at porn for that! Gripping my sh*t when you talk to someone, exchange details then get a message to subscribe! Rant over, Happy Bank Holiday!

You're talking about OF right? Yeah its not just fab where thats a thing. happens on pretty much all dating sites they message you to engage interest and once they know you're interested they ask you to sub to their OF. I see girls/guys doing it on facebook and twitter too so not much you can do other than to report them as a scam??

1) Keep communications on Fab and that either won’t happen, or you can report it when it does. If you take communication offsite, admin can’t do anything.

2) The mentality of “I’ll just look at porn” is so crappy, because you obviously mean free porn, which is frequently stolen from paid sites and reposted.

3) (to the second poster) OF isn’t a scam FFS. Just because you personally don’t like something doesn’t mean it’s illegal.

I've always said if you've got it flaunt it! I'm not opposed to having a subscription service to earn money or even a career out of it, what bothers me is showing interest then treating you like a cash pig. As for me mentioning looking at free porn I think you have misinterpreted what I mean....basically if I wanted to see some breasts I'd pick up a news paper, gonna twitter or fab, I really wouldn't pay for someone to send a pic of them in lingerie in a room that looks like a scene out of a trainspotting!

I have no issues with men or women having an OF account to earn a living. I understand your gripe, but that's the whole point of sample selling. Give a sample to sell the product.

Women are doing that on here (which i agree shouldn't be allowed) because their selling platform is very limited (Tiktok and Facebook both no longer allow adverts to a person OF account)

So, I can accept why they do it and I don't think they should be slated/insulted for it. A guy has just as much right to say No to subscribing, as much as a woman has to sell her OF account.

What’s vile is the language you’re using to describe sex workers. OF has very strict policies in place to ensure underage people can’t sign up, if any manage to it’s because they’re using fake ID, and they’re removed instantly when it’s discovered.

In two years I’ve seen one account advertising OF - they were banned very quickly; and two accounts which were very careful not to mention OF but were tag-teaming, trying to recruit women to make “content” with them. I know it was for OF because it took me 10 seconds to find their accounts. But as you say, the drug-related and “oh no, I’m skint” statuses are much more common. As are the men in my inbox offering to pay me.

I think it would depend on the content. OF is for all kinds of content, not just the adult stuff. Those who post adult content and make money from it would be classed as sex workers, and most wouldn’t have a problem with that I think. But the ones who post fitness or cookery or whatever wouldn’t be.

This is the point I was trying to make. If that's the person's intent then make it clear from the start as opposed to me wasting my time. I'm not against it in any way just make your intentions clear. "

They aren’t going to make it clear from the start, as it’s against site rules. They’ll only mention it when you move off-site, Kik or WhatsApp or wherever. You can’t report them on here for something admin can’t see, so keep contact via Fab at least until you get a feel for whether they’re actually interested in you. My guess would be that if you refuse to move off-site, they’ll lost interest quite quickly.

Yeah that's fine. I have an OF account but I don't advertise it on any form of social media.

However there are lots of people who do and that's the most frustrating thing. I've had a few from this site but tinder is the worst for it no doubt.

I've had 2 women in the last 6 months message me about a meet then ask for Snapchat "because it's easier" with the sole intent of advertising their content. I reported them to fab and nothing happened so I named and shamed them on here and I nearly got banned for doing so.

It's a growing problem that needs to be addressed.

You say it “needs to be addressed”, but admin can only address what happens on-site. If they used Snapchat messages to promote, admin can’t do anything as they can’t see the messages. If they promote on here, admin can and do deal with it - I used to know someone who promoted their OF on here and they got banned. As you now know, naming and shaming doesn’t help and is itself against Fab rules, so best to avoid that.
