I just wondered what peoples thinking is now on meeting up with others with the vaccine roll out and things beginning to open up a little ?

Im sure people will have different views so please respect them.

Life has got to get back to normal it’s been such a hard 12 months and none of us getting any younger, and as we all know life is far to short and we all need to make the most of it when it’s safe to.

To be honest we all need to get back to normal. As long as everyone uses common sense then i cant see a problem. We are going to be living with this virus for many years yet however we cant go into lockdown every time cases rise.

I dont think most can take much more of lockdown now and if Im honest this last one has been the hardest for me.

My youngest has booked a weekend away next month and a festival later on in the year and Im planned a few things which hopefully will be able to happen.

I'm not single so am alright but if I were and I wanted occasional company, I would do so responsibly. I've had both vaccines myself. People need to use their own judgement when it comes to their private lives now imo. A single person can form a bubble anyway so can technically meet another person or couple, so isn't necessarily illegal

Sue and I spoke about this on Friday. We will only be meeting responsible couples as a couple, not singles, when it's considered safe, and then firstly as a social to try and gauge the risks involved. I've got feeling that it's going to be a while yet.

As a single person you can legally meet someone else/couple in your or their home and do as you wish with them anyway

Well this virus is with us for a long time could be years before it not a problem for some people,it's like sars that was a big thing a few years ago and there was no vaccine for that and still isn't one but nobody is concerned about that anymore,so return to life and get on with it,you're too long dead my friends

I'm single and only see workmates, daughter in the garden. My son works away so only see him at the weekend. As much as I'm lonely and suffering I'm still very wary about meeting up with others

Well, it’s caused the Kent variant, which started here and has already swept through the country as part of the second wave, and the vaccines are shown to deal with it very well.

It’s just scaremongering to try and force people to do as they are told.

The fact that the Kent variant is rampant on the continent isnt really the issue, its just a handy scapegoat for BoJo.

The vaccines do deal with it well, the problem is that there are still significant numbers of people in 'at risk' groups who havent had the vaccine yet. The virus hasnt gone anywhere, so we need to be patient until they are all fully dosed.

Same here, it’s been incredibly difficult being single through this lockdown but seriously thinking about easing back safely, should the chance arise of course.

We can’t force people to have the vaccine. If someone chooses not to have it that’s their choice. We are not going to reach 100% levels of vaccination. If that is a target it is unrealistic.

We can’t force people to have the vaccine. If someone chooses not to have it that’s their choice. We are not going to reach 100% levels of vaccination. If that is a target it is unrealistic.

100% isnt the target, but we are barely at 45% right now...

Give it a month and things may well look significantly different.

We think you have to do what you feel comfortable with, this last lockdown has hit a lot of people hard. Being a couple together has been hard enough but we feel for people going through this on their own it must be awful. Life can not stay the way it is and normality must start again, but be cautious but do what you feel comfortable with and also do what keeps you sane as this year has been rough on everyone. Stay safe but way up the risks and also your own sanity.

We think the same as you as soon as some of the pubs or areas start opening, outdoor socials can begin again and is a good idea. We do love a day out at the beach.

plenty of beaches for a socially distanced walk and picnic. Ogmore to monknash we did Saturday, with a rucksack of food.

This. Its already been around since 2019. It's not going to go away. Sooner or later we'll have to accept some risk. How much, will be up to individuals....what's acceptable 10 in 100, 5 in 100, 2 in 100?

For us it's more than a year since we had it. So we've had the anti-bodies since Feb last. Still we are not supposed to mix. For the last 9 months we've been told once those in the older categories have been vaccinated life will go back to normal. It hasn't.

Once the vaccination percentage gets close to the 70% we really should see restrictions completely lifted.

But it'll be many years before we are Covid free I suspect.

Been having this very conversation with playmates. The current thoughts are not until everyone's family have had at least 1 jab.

I'm still keeping an eye on the medical data about how effective the vaccine is at stopping you catching & passing on the virus. If we don't get good news on that I won't be meeting.

Social distancing maybe relaxed by the summer. But there's no social distancing when you're meeting lol At the moment unprotected kissing is more of a danger than unprotected fucking

We’re in no rush. Want to support the NHS and be responsible so we’ll stay put until it’s legal to mingle freely and once we’re both jabbed.

Met some great people on here and have been chatting and working plans out to meet.

It won’t be long so we’re keeping busy ‘practicing’ at home !

I have now had my second jab and a third "top-up" is scheduled for late Sept. I appreciate that although the vaccine protects me I can still be a carrier and pass it on to others. At the moment all the people I associate with have had thier first jab. For once being older gets me to the front of the queue.

Reality will strike home when a new variant emerges which attacks the under thirties then the shit will really hit the fan!

Ive had both my jabs now and I know its not the green light to do anything that I want.

I do feel safer now and hopefully as rules relax I can get out and about and go to a few socially distant socials.

I've had the first jab. I'm not looking for contact meets just yet, although I agree that people can bubble to meet if they choose.

What about no contact meets, outdoor socials, mutual play teasing and the like, that's one way to do something, find someone to plan with ready for when you can meet 'properly'.
