"Many personal trainers out there BUT be very careful as 99% are NOT teaching people correctly with both exercising and NUTRITION. I personally have not met one (in the UK) that really knows what they are talking about. and trust me qualifications achieved in the UK are a JOKE. I am in contact with some the the TOP guys in the US, namely Dave Palumbo, and they have told me their opinion's the qualification questions and required answers being totally inaccurate on so many levels Do NOT pay anyone too much either, they rip people off BIG TIME which pisses me off!! I wouldn't recommend you pay anyone that charges above £20 total per session and sessions should not be timed - takes as long as it takes, even if the routine takes 2hrs on a given day - dependant on goals. A meal plan should also be included along with a health check " This is this gentleman's standard reply to anyone asking for advice on the subject or similar. I'm not a PT and don't use one on a one to one basis but to say 99% of UK PTs are clueless is insulting to the industry. There are several on this site who are probably struggling to make a living and have done for the past year so maybe stop and think about what you say and how you say it before spewing out your views at people who are asking for friendly advice. You can have a view on a subject without being so dereogatory to other hard working people in the process

"Don't worry about losing too much, some.of us guys like it If the lady wants to lose weight for her own health we should support and encourage her " Agreed and I would support her as i have done with previous partners. All I said was that some guys do like it. However, why should women be pushed or made to feel they have to try to lose weight ?

" Noone is pushing anyone here The lady asked for advice, she wants to lose weight for herself. To be told that some men like large women (which indeed they do which is great) is not supporting what she wants to achieve Most people lose weight because they want to improve their health and self esteem, not because they feel made to

So I can give an accurate account of that. 2 Come on lets be honest losing weight and gaining quality muscle isn't rocket science - it's COMMON SENSE and piss easy - if your IQ is above 100 lol. 3 I say it as I see it and NONE of MY clients STRUGGLE to reach a goal and all would tell you I NEVER FAIL. 4 I train people from all walks of life, from people simply wishing to lose weight to heart attack victims to NHS staff. 43 years of experience, taught by the BEST and a body to PROVE I KNOW how to get thing's done...UNLIKE the PT's I have seen, oh and I'm 100% NATURAL 5 ANYONE wanna question me face to face IS MORE THAN WELCOME - I live for proving what I say and know is FACT PS You spelt derogatory incorrectly

I'm only in this as a PT because my last client from Kent suggested I make a living from it rather than continuing to help others for free, she said I should make a go of it for a living. I just wanna help other's that need help and it seems a waste not to as I know so much about the subjectas a whole even written a book on Vitamins and minerals. I hate seeing people ripped off, I'm NOT in this for the money, I LOVE seeing people realise their goals and setting them in the right path for a healthier, longer, happier and better quality of life. I've trained dozens of people in the past for free, never wanted a penny, merely to help people I'll leave there and as you say...agree to disagree ......but I'm right,LOL

"Haven’t read the full thread but if you have Facebook look at Macros inc page. They have a free calculator which gives you a calculation of both calories and the protein/carbs/fat breakdown. This is a great starting point for most people. I’ve lost 5.5 stone so far. Still eat what most people consider ‘bad’ food etc on a weekly if not daily basis. " Excellent achievement, well done

"I lost 4 stone 8lb through slimming world, keeping it off is the hardest thing now." Similar to you, I lost about 4st in 2018 with Slimming World after reevaluating how I use and abuse myself as I had really let myself go. I’ve been fortunate to have maintained this albeit, I have put on about half a stone over the last year and can feel every single pound of it. It’s particularly hard now working from home and local restrictions but I keep as active as I can and make healthy choices most of the time for my well-being and to try to stay appealing to the Mr and others.
