good idea to enforce a meet

Maybe one way to get people to turn up for a meet which they 'booked'. Example, plan a gb or an orgy. arrange a £20 or £40 'bounty' which is returned when the person turns up.

Can you explain how you would get money off them in the first place if they have no intention of turning up?

Not saying it's a bad idea I just can't see how it's workable even if the "bounty" is nominal

Everyone has the right to pull out of a meet at any time for any reason, whether you like it or not, even after the meet has commenced. Trying to financially black mail people into meeting is really not a healthy approach at all. Fab is about freedom of choice. If you are arranging meets with people who are continually letting you down by nlt turning up then maybe take a look at your selection criteria

I disagree with the preceding post. From personal experience, it's a real pain to arrange a party, have twenty couples say they will attend, turn away another twenty, just to find only a few actually turn up. Result; we don't bother now. There would be more parties if there was an effective booking system with a small financial penalty for no-show.

If I was organising a party, I would want the people to be there because they wanted to be, not because they chucked down a tenner deposit a few weeks before and only turned up so they can claim it back. I can appreciate your frustration but I don't think asking for deposits is a good move, if that person has to withdraw because of a genuine reason why should they lose out financially just to keep other people happy. Doesn’t sit well with me. Maybe I see the whole Fab thing more for fun rather than a business like approach some seem to take though

When I organised parties I used to accept the fact that let downs were going to happen. With couples it was about 40% drop out rate, whilst gb's were like playing bandit's in a social club, if I wanted three guys I would invite 25 to 30. If they had all turned up, then I would have had a problem, but I was never far out with my calculations. Cash exchange can always be dodgy. I don't know what the legislation is now, but a few years ago some friends of mine were done for what was called, keeping a bawdy house, whilst another landlord I knew very well, landed up being investigated, and prosecuted for living off immoral earnings, although that case did fall apart in court.

I concur. Have thrown many parties myself and people failed to turn up. I never asked for money for the food etc i always provided,did it because i enjoyed. When people didn't turn up,the people who did enjoyed and we just got on with the party. It was the non attendees who lost out. Had many wicked parties and made some really good mates off here.

To be fair the op was not suggesting a money making proposition but a returnable deposit.

Having arranged the odd hotel meet we have learned the hard way how many guys are just talking the talk but have no intention of actually meeting. At least you'd know from the start they have no intention of coming if you followed this line!

All the party's I've been to have had no shows from couples, single males and females.

People who have regular party's generally invite people that they know or others put forward by the people attending.

I'd rather a recommendation to attend someone's party for being reliable than paying a fee.
