Slow vaccinations

Swansea

Just thought i'd put it out there.

Is it me or is it a coinsidence that the vaccinations in wales are rolling out a lot slower than the rest of the uk. Could it possibly be due to the forth coming assenbly elections and certain members of that said assembly looking to pass a law to delay the electoions for 6 mths.

Think it may be convenient if we are still in a full lockdown and people are too afraid to go out to vote. On top of that dickford said in a recent interview he didn't think he complete the full term if re elected in which case why does he plan to stand again if not for the full term. Seems a bit odd???

I was thinking to myself this morning that what we need more of right now is conspiracy theories.

They really do make the days fly by.

It’s taken me a week to get through to make an appointment. Maybe that a reason as well as to why it slow.

I’m having mine but tbh it’s only to keep mum safe to much conflicting info round

Glasgowish

Saw Tom Jones on Jools Holland on Hogmany saying he had had his as he is 80. My mum who is 81 has still heard nothing and neither have any of her friends the same age. Think Scotland therefore must be slower than Wales or maybe celebrities go to the front of the queue.

Glad you’re getting yours done.

Just wanted to clarify, there are a number of conflicting opinions around wrt the vaccine, but all the facts and scientific arguments support having the vaccine. It is only people who are not qualified to have an opinion on this that are naysayers. Look at the facts and don’t listen to uninformed opinion.

It is indeed your choice and bodilly autonomy trumps all.

Fingers crossed you don't contract it and if you do, you don't take up an ICU bed that could be needed by someone who isn't medically able to be vaccinated or who needs it for any other reason that requires critcal care. My fingers are crossed for you

Tbh the doctors has been nagging me to take the flu jab for years but I always refused and thankfully I've never had the flu.

And I'm not a conspiracy theorist to the guy who commented. Just refusing a vaccine cos it's my choice.

I was sceptical at first tbh, mainly because I didn't feel I needed it as have never bothered with a flu jab despite being eligible every year due to my job

I came to a point where I just thought that maybe I could be one of the unlucky ones who contracts covid and dies, therefore leaving my 3 kids without a mother. That swayed it for me, and I am fortunate enough to be in the first priority group due to my line of work

Noones disputing that it's your choice and that's how it should be. Noone should be forced to out something into their body that they don't want to. But just as we are responsible for our choices, we are responsible also for the consequences of those choices, especially where those consequences may effect other people

Nobody called you a conspiracy theorist.

The conspiracy theory was the viewpoint that the WG are delaying rolling out of the vaccine so that they can postpone the election.

Feel like I should add a thumbs up emoji here...

So by that logic would smokers not need cancer treatment?

West Wales and Cardiff

Drakeford may have got some things wrong, he may be dull, but suggesting that an older guy who ran the Welsh government whilst living separately from family for fear of infecting them would restrict access to the vaccine is utterly bonkers.

I humbly advise taking the tinfoil hat off

Tbh, calling him Dickford repeatedly sounds very juvenile too.

Btw - I won’t be voting Labour in the election .

No tinfoil hat. Also do not like a man in charge i did not nor did anyone in wales vote for. And i do think he will try to delay the election. But if it goes ahead i see plaid and the conservatives forming a coalition to get rid of this labour rabble. Or maybe a big gain for the abolish the assembly party

Just can t understand how we are so far behind the other home nations with the vaccine roll out .down to lack of spediture in the welsh nhs by consecutive welsh assembly leaders . The icu bed figures also show we have a sort fall that was raised over 4 years ago. Where have the assembly been spending our money ?

No tinfoil hat here was just putting it out there to see if anyone else had ideas as to why wales is so slow with the vaccine. i do not agree a man should be in charge when no one in wales vote for he inherited the job. And i do think he will try to delay the election to stay in that job even longer. But if it goes ahead i see plaid and the conservatives forming a coalition to get rid of this labour rabble. I for one will be hoping for a big gain for the abolish the assembly party.

Just can t understand how we are so far behind the other home nations with the vaccine roll out when we have th doses to dish out prob down to lack of spending on the welsh nhs by consecutive welsh labour assembly leaders. The icu bed figures i found show we already had a sort fall in bed numbers that was raised over 4 years ago. Where have the assembly been spending our money ?
