Being a gog and from wxm nor often do I feel sorry for our fellow brethren from our capital Keyardiff....

However just seen a news item which announces that the capital's favourite tipple may no longer be brewed in keyardiff...

Which is no suprise following the recent take over by Marstons...

Wxm was once a brewing town of some repute...we had our Border Brewery which was taken over by guess who..Marstons and guess what not long after brewing ceased and Border beer was no more...

Also our famous WXM Lager...when owned by the Ind Coop conglomerate they moved production to Blackburn became shite (wxm water was the secret)...fortunately now back in production back in a micro brewery .

Trust Brains doesnt go same way...

As far as I’m aware Marsdons have I’m only bought the Brains pub chain not the brewery but I could be mistaken.

Mistaken, I think. According to the Beeb website, there's already talk of closing the brewery and brewing being moved to one of Marston's sites in England. A real shame as I've always loved Brains beers.

"And believe it or not, Marstons is owned by Carlsberg!"

That’s the way things go these days buyout the competition and conquer the market.
