in the deep mist of the valleys

I have just been catching up on twitter, Mark Drakeford reported Wales will experience another lockdown next weekend, apparently its not as bad as the previous lockdown. However, some sectors will be effected.

Looks like hospitality sector be closed only, just when its their busiest period.

Its ok for ministers not losing any of their pay but tough shit on everyone else

Just wondering what everyone's suggestions are to the solution? With things ever changing, there's little anyone can predict.

At least the gyms will remain open

They just seem to be targeting the hospitality industry specifically with these proposed restrictions, rather than across the board

All it will achieve is that people who would have socialised and ate/drank in a controlled environment like a pub or restaurant will now do so in each others homes, making the problem worse

I honestly don't think there is a solution tbh but idk i think the only possible way out now is a vaccine and thats not completely get rid of the virus but control it.

The way forward is just to live with it cant keep going in and out of lockdown and other restrictions its messing with peoples livelihood and businesses.

If everyone listened to guidelines and had common sense along with decent government ie all 4 devolved nations singing from same hymn sheet all through pandemic

Prefer the devolved nations deciding what works best locally myself. God forbid we'd had total control from Westminster on this.

It dropped the daily Welsh cases below 1,000. But we're back above that. So hasn't had much long term impact and the need for further restrictions.

The only thing that's been significantly effective was the full lockdown back in April/May. If the measures over the summer were enough to control the spread we wouldn't have needed the firebreak in the first place.

We aren't going into another lockdown!

People are not listening!

They are put a number of extra restrictions in place, because in most cases the public can't do the right things for themselves.

Numerous times the public have been asked to look at their actions and to do the right thing and they can't so hence the new restrictions.

Its not the government's fault its peoples fault who wouldnt listen to reason. Who won't isolate, who want to meet up with friends and relatives and who want to go out on the pop still.

Unless the government put extra police and army on the streets to question everyone's reasons and motives a lot of people are going to carry on ignoring the advise.

The government's hands are tied all they are trying to do is prevent deaths and make sure over Christmas people can a have a reasonable normal Christmas without over burdening the NHS with more covid issues!

So fed up with the Welsh Govt! Forcing restaurants and pubs to close by denying them revenue from alcohol is ludicrous. If their are Pubs abusing the rules, then close them down. Don’t apply a blanket rule to all of the population that are adhering to the rules. I was with the Govt until this idiocy. Leaving gyms and leisure centres open for ‘mental health’ benefits, knowing full well that the majority of people don’t go, whilst destroying communities where the pub is central to peoples well being is more like prohibition. Of course we can go to Supermarkets for booze, but how does that help? Private parties will now become the standard. Madness

Same here pubs had to follow strict guidance before opening whereas supermarkets are just a free for all.

Everyone touching products no social distancing yet because big businesses control governments nothing will be done about it

Add to this the minimum alcohol pricing and you do wonder whether there is an agenda behind their decision making

I just had a thought , dangerous I know

Why dont they keep the pubs open till 10pm but still not let them sell any booze. That way the great community spirit that pubs bring can still be held onto for those who are going to miss it so much

Pubs can t sell alcohol but what if they give it away ?

Say pay £x for entry and private membership but that fee entitles you to free drinks as a private member.

Limited to a certain amount of time, With no return with in an hour.

Bit like the free parking spaces . Can only stay for a limited amount of time but can't return to the same place after driving around the block. All pubs could register as private member organisations a bit like the bars in the houses of parliament.

The worst part is we can't even get the 99p pints from Wetherspoons like they did in England .

The whole thing stinks. I went out for a meal in a pub last Friday and I felt safer and in a more controlled environment than at any time I have gone to a supermarket. I suggest Dodgy Drakeford have a gander in Tesco or somewhere to see where the real issues are

Unfortunately, the longer it goes on the less confidence I have in the handling of the pandemic.

World class track & trace.... £12 bilion pounds for a system that the Govenment's own Scientific Advisory Group assesses as having at best a "marginal impact on transmission". Really?

Boston Consulting paid £10million from April to August for 40 consultants. Don't need a calculator to know I'd def take that job.

Staff working in hopsital where 3 people in an office with confirmed Covid, would you not think it sensible to test the remaining staff regardless, but no, only if showing one of the prime symptoms....but we can test the entire population of Liverpool. Allegedly.

Piss up in a brewery springs to mind. I lost confidence in most of the jingoistic rhetoric spouted by the government months ago.

Of course given the alcohol ban from friday, they've even got a fe*kin excuse not to be able to organise a piss up in a brewery now...
