Working from home, don't miss driving to Cardiff & only used half a tank of fuel since March.

Didn't go out that much anyway & found so much to watch on YouTube.

Enjoyed not having to commute. Enjoyed the roads being empty when travel was necessary. Enjoyed having open spaces more or less to myself. Enjoyed seeing pollution levels fall.

With a bit of effort some good can come from all of this too.

I feel bad saying this, particularly given the reasons why it happened, but I loved it - the lack of traffic, the birdsong, no stressing about work etc.

I totally get that it was a very differemt experience for others though.

No need to feel bad, you can only comment on your personal experience.

Mine was largely positive though juggling work and home life was a challenge.

I'm just grateful for keeping my job and the good things that happened.

It's OK to do that whilst recognising the extreme hardship others have experienced and maybe doing something to help them too.

Thanks

Completely agree with your sentiments. I did put quite a lot of hours in on a voluntary basis doing sonething to help people.

Pros

I save 2 hrs a day traveling.

Saving money.

I can do odd jobs around the house while working. (Even managed to do painting and decorating in lunch and breaks).

Cons

Not seeing friends or family

Zoom meetings

Running out of things to watch

No physical munches or meets.

Nope.

I struggled for months working shifts with no childcare due to government having no insight into what it's like to be a working single parent without allowing my parents to help with the kids when I work.

Am fortunate in that I have a frontline job so job security was never an issue.

And I couldn't have my partner in my home for over 3 months.

No sport

No gym

No pubs

Yea it was a barrell of fucking laughs

Loved lockdown. Been on loads of lovely walks with my puppy and daughter. Spent a huge amount of quality time with her, which I wouldn't usually get. The weather until now, has been fantastic.

Now I'm back in work, and she's back in school, and we are pretty much "normal", even though we are still in lockdown, it doesn't feel like it.

I'm being harsh on Ollie really. Good clubman.

Thoughts on Beard not making the Wales squad? I didn't see that coming.

Apart from the kids being at home so we spent more time walking in the hills & having picnics etc. it hasn’t had much effect on us as we both work from home anyway in jobs where we rarely see customers.

Family are all 250+ miles away so it’s mostly FaceTime etc. Anyway so that didn’t change either.

We also have no near neighbours so our view on what goes on outside our window hasn’t changed.

So for us it really has made little difference. Work for me stopped for the first couple of weeks of lockdown as people adjusted to what it may mean for them but it soon picked back up & levels are about where they should be.

A second lockdown in the winter months might cause issues though, we shall have to see.

Stay safe all

The only positives for me have been not commuting so I don’t have to get up as early, and not spending as much money because I haven’t been in town. Apart from that it’s been hideous. Trapped in the house in less than great circumstances, work’s been even busier than I used to be in the office, and I’m lonely beyond belief.

Loneliness is the killer. I wasn't particularly outgoing before all this, but I enjoyed the socials and other events meeting people.

Now with all this, it's just repetitive. Wake up, walk the dogs, go to work, come home, eat, dogs again, sleep, repeat. So tedious.

Mixture of ups and downs for me.

Working from home throughout and still, novelty at first, but desperate to get back now. Miss the social side of work as well as the hard graft.

Upside, has been the time to get back outdoors, which I love, gone from walks to starting running, lost a stone in weight, feeling energised, well being is right up there

Mixed bag really, i have worked all the way thru it, so in a way i still seen people, not family and some friends tho, I learned british sign language also,

Also in the middle of August i had a double transplant so cant really complain

Worse part tho was haveing to let some boys go on furlong, and not knowing if they would have a job to come back to! Not seeing family and friends

Oh and the dreaded holiday makers comeing into the area and not listening to rules! Thinking they know better!

Sorry to hear about the difficulties others have experienced. I hope it came across in my previous posts that I fully realised it presented huge challenges and worries for many good people.

I helped out others in lockdown through offering telephone support and it was very rewarding. It did give a valuable insight into others’ experiences.
