cant stand them-to me it just makes me think that the person who sends them is too lazy to type a message, they want you to message them 1st,but thats just my opinion

i know that some people use a wink to let the person know they are interested (or so they say) but i cant stand them and i wish there was a button on here that allows you to turn winks off so no one can send to me.

Meaningless to us & we ignore them.

If someone was genuinely interested they would send a message too.

I send a wink to see if I get a response, better than overloading an inbox

No response means not interested to me

Yeah, agree. Winks should be able to be switched off. We find them lazy, very rarely use them and totally ignore them.

Would rather have well crafted msg than a wink.

No longer in the UK.

We use the wink button if we're interested in someone, if we get a wink back then we'll take the time to send a message.

Same here. We send a wink if we like what we read. If we get a wink back then let the conversation start. If no reply move on. Saves send un answered messages

I like a wink personally. I think it's a nice way to show interest without having to waste time sending messages that just get ignored. If I get a wink back I'll take time to message then x

I do not mind getting winks. I take it as a sign of interest just like someone smiling at you across the bar or dance floor. I'll take a look at their profile and wink back if I'm at all interested. Think its a good way to start coversing and makes it easy for the people that are a bit shy or find it difficult to write the first 'hello' message.

I treat a wink the same way as a like on Facebook or twitter. Often send wink to people who's profiles I like but don't share the same interest as me.

I don’t mind a wink. I’ve sent a few, if they aren’t reciprocated I know that person isn’t interested and vice verse

Definitely agree. We enjoy receiving winks but will only wink back if we like the look of the profile/photos etc. It’s a good way of starting a conversation and is harmless as can be ignored
