Morfa Dyffryn naturist beach

Does anyone know if Morfa Dyffryn beach is open, or does it have police tape like Black Sands near us?

We'd prefer to walk the dog and take our exercise naked in the good weather.

Your not aloud to drive anywhere in Wales for dog walking or exercising ,I'm only aloud to go fishing if I can walk there, so driving to a nudist beach to take a dog for a walk isn't essential travel, we both really miss morfa dyffryn especially with the weather we have been having, and if people keep on breaking the lockdown guide lines we will have second wave and be in lockdown even longer,

There's this whole vagueness of what is "Local"

Does that mean you can drive 5 or 10 miles to get to where you want to exercise, or is it only within walking distance from your home?

I want to get up in to the Clwydians, and the AONB, and it's only a couple of miles, but all of the car parks are shut off to prevent the English from invading

Aside from that, sorry I can't help you Ross and Suzie

No it means you can't drive 5 to 10 to go for exercise, but if where you want to go is only couple of miles away why not walk the couple of miles extra to get there?and morfa dyffryn is more than 10miles from porthmadog, Ross and suzie are lucky they live in one of the beauty spots of Wales and have endless trails and paths to walk on there doorstep

It's not local so can't go there. Black Rocks would be out of bounds as well. You'll have to stick to around your patch

Thanks, I think we were confused. As we understand it, we should stay at home. Go out a bit. Be careful. Stay alert. Go home. But only if you're not at home. In which case stay 2m apart. Unless you can't. In which case stay at home. But please exercise. So go out. But not much, and certainly not to naturist beaches. Protect the Welsh NHS. Save lives. Unless you're old or young or have underlying health conditions or are healthy. Or black. Or Asian. Or white. Or foreign. Or british. In which case stay at home and stay alert. Unless you're exercising (but not at naturist beaches) or getting essentials. Like potted plants and hanging baskets from the garden centres. But get it delivered instead. Unless you want to collect it. In which case go out. But stay at home as well and save lives. Except people you don't like. Cough on them. Herd immunity and all that. It's all good. So the message is clear. Stay at home. But go out. Buy essentials, like stone chips and ornamental fountains. And Mc Donalds. Get some exercise. Or just wander round the shops. Protect the NHS. Don't go to hospital; die quietly in your bed. Or a care home. Or somewhere else where it won't count to government figures, especially in Wales as we have lots of care homes. Save lives. As long as they're important lives like Boris.

I think we have it clear, but not sure.

We'll stay in our own place and sunbathe in our garden, our heads hurt too much if we try to work it out.

"we have friends in the south of England who have been going to a nude beach there for over a week. Tomorrow is the last hot day for a while. What a waste!"

Probably the hardest thing for me in lockdown is thinking how much I’d like to be at Morfa in the nice weather. It’s my Happy Place (bit of a naff term, I know)!

I’d hate to see the beaches in Wales as busy as the ones in England right now though. Morfa wouldn’t be I know (unless there was a special law just allowing nudist beaches)!

I’m trying to focus on just how nice it’ll feel to get back there when it finally happens .

Your not aloud to drive 80 miles to go to a beach that would be taking the piss, in Wales your only aloud to go 5 miles from your house for exercise or visiting family, the covid cases in north Wales are still high, and we are weeks behind England with easing rules,

I genuinely do not know the figures

I may suggest though as a guess

If north Wales cases are high it is because people are not socially distancing

I may guess that those who are not feel they are remote and need not bother

Again I am guessing but you cannot catch this unless your hand hygiene e is poor or you get too close

All of this is a shame I used to go to north Wales weekly

I dont much like people and knew exactly where to go to avoid them

we went back for the first time yesterday (July 6). The Dyffryn Estate was still closed (barriers down) so we couldn't get to park in the usual place which gives good access to the beach. We had to park some distance away, close to the municipal car park. The beach area nearby is not good - stoney with steep banks, and a long way to get the a sandy area and over a mile from the nudist area. We gave up and found somewhere in the dune area there for our naked picnic. It was deserted all day. Will probably try again on Sunday, but the main parking area might not be accessible until next Monday when the caravan/camping site opens.

We can't see what the problem is, we usually park at the snowdonia public car park walk down the boardwalk take the path to your right halfway down the board walk, then walk about a mile and a half to the nudist beach

"Thanks, I think we were confused.

"just rang the Seaside Estate. They will only be allowing access (on a one by one basis)to static caravan owners "for the foreseeable future". Bad news for the rest of us. It doesn't sound like you would even be allowed through as a pedestrian to get to the beach. Any ideas?"

You can walk through to get to the beach but parking in the car parks on the estate is not allowed .

Although not legal, is it permissible to camp with a little tent in the dunes on the beach? Any thoughts welcome.

Tent is fine like a shelter on the beach or dunes while sun bathing, but camping on the beach is bang out of order especially under current rules,we have seen a lot of wild camp lately and are disgusted with the mess they leave behind

I nearly got caught in a stampede of them once (I was walking onto the beach via the path through the dunes, I’m not one of them, honest!). I think they thought they saw someone in the distance beckoning them over for an orgy.

It was probably a crisp packet waving in the wind .

Seriously though, I noticed no-one. Next thing they’re barging past, cocks a-flapping .

Snowdonia & Costa del Sol

We were there today (Thursday) and Friday looks very good too, at least until mid-afternoon. After that, it looks cool, cloudy and breezy for a while so we will give it miss until the end of next week. The Seaside Estate has tightened up on parking on their land so the Snowdonia park close to Benar Beach is really the only option again

Today Friday looks very very good indeed - unfortunately we can’t make it this time

Beyond that, it’ll be another week before there’s a good enough day to make the trip

Snowdonia & Costa del Sol

quick update - when we arrived this morning there were signs all over the Seaside Estate banning entry to non-residents and parking, but by the time we left (around 5) they had opened the beach car park (now charging £5 rather than £2 last year, but no complaints). This will make life easier from now on. Today was chaotic - cars parked radomly all the way down the raod to Benar beach.

Like others said, it was really busy, we got there early and the car park was quite empty, but when we left at 1pm ish it was chaos with cars parked everywhere and getting out down the lane was awkward too because it's narrow and that many cars still heading there. We've never seen it so busy.

Thank you for moving on, rather than adding to the parking problem .

Sorry, I’m exceptionally welcoming to visitors (I’ve got the (non-Fab) reviews to prove it!), but the amount of inconsiderate parking in beautiful areas is getting ridiculous. Emergency vehicles can’t get down lots of roads.

Your welcome!! In all honesty, it was dangerously blocked, down that road, only would have needed a breakdown or misjudgment and it would have been unthinkable!

I guess it’s very rare, but as someone else posted, emergency services would not have gotten to anyone down there.. for the sake of a bit of sun and sand, people parking and blocking the roads when it was obviously already packed should have gone elsewhere!!! But in the world of “ME first” thats not an option for some...

Will probably get flamed for stating blocking up the roads is selfish.. but it is...
