Does anyone else block due to the blockee being not what they are looking for? Is this really shallow? I've blocked a few for different reasons but noticed I've been blocked a few times recently. Wondering if it's a time saver for them or its because I'm a giant arsehole.

For some it’s just a time saver, I wouldn’t over think it mate. I use it for similar, if I message someone and they delete I just block. Saves my time in the future. It’s nothing personal.

I use the block for different reasons but yes if I’m not attracted to them after we have messaged, it saves the messaging again down the line.

Don’t let it get to you we can’t all fancy each other although what a party the would be

I block if ive had messages and they are not for me, I always say a polite no thankyou first. I do this as some will message again and some will give me abuse.

You are not a arsehole, but I might slap your arse for that comment when we have coffee my dinosaur friend lol

Oh I agree, sites like this can massively knock your self esteem. If your already sensitive (a lot us won’t admit it but we are) then your on a downer before you start. I used to be just same. I got to the point where I decided not to let it bother me. Hope that makes sense, I’m crap at getting my point across on text lol

Ladies do tend to get hundreds of mail though and a lot go unread. I think some people send multiple messages to try and get one read. I suppose a block is the easy way to say you're not interested though.

A lot also leave them unread intentionally and isn’t a reason for someone to send upwards of 10 messages to get their attention

Having said that I’ve also sent messages which have gone unread, then re sent one 6 months to a year later and received a reply. Perhaps the person was busy the first time, perhaps my message got lost in all the others, perhaps my message was shit, who knows. I do know tho that sending 10 messages to anyone is salkerish and desperate weather there a man or woman.

In your head just replace block with 'remove from feed'. I use it to ensure that I'm not seeing profiles of people I'm not interested in or those I have messaged and have made it clear that they are not interested (which includes those that are inherently rude). That way I'm not likely to annoy them by messaging them again in the future...in case I forgot I already did! It's simple and it works for everyone, just don't take it personally.
