And ice hockey helps too.

Backwards thinking, unfortunately I've witnessed so much personally lately. A friends response (Lithuanian) has shocked me to the core. We won't be friends if we both come through this.

a Russian doctor was interviewed on telly and said that you can't catch it in church because its a holy place.

However don't forget that there are people in the UK on Facebook that believe gargling with vinegar, taking regular sips of water, making face masks from old tea towels, sitting in the sunshine to name but a few crazy ideas will either cure or prevent you catching it

I needed to read that to believe some of the the things that have been said to me face to face and had to hold my tongue.

The lunatics are in charge of the asylum...

More like the bastards are in charge of our run-down NHS. We saw Simon Stevens (Sir!) in front of the Select Committee - what an arrogant ego he seems.

Good luck in their coming struggle to all our heroic Doctors and nurses et al!

I saw this interview and smiled .. i understand that religion can give a crutch to so many but the brain washing it can deliver is frightening.... but hey if that’s is what they believe, who am I to question ..... only thing that springs to mind is the selfishness of them, we will all meet in gods house cuz it’s pure and when we come out we can infect the isolated with a virus we haven’t got from the church ... madness

I'm starting to question everything I see, head and read to an even greater degree than I previously did (and I am Mrs Cynic of Cynical City). As the woman interviewed spoke in Russian I can only go on trust that the interpretation given was correct. I meant to say that when I originally posted.

I don't think any nation can truly claim to be dealing with this in a way entirely based on fact.

Trump - USA, Bolsonaro - Brazil, Johnson - UK, are amongst the dangerous rightwingers that don't care for their people, on top of those listed here.

I really don't think that the leftness or rightness of those in charge has got a lot to do with how different countries are handling this. Of the countries that seem to be doing the best so far (Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore) none of there government's are known for being particularly left wing.

As for us (the UK), we seem to tracking along about the same as France and somewhat better than Spain and Italy.

Whilst being critical of some clear mistakes that Johnson and the government have made so far in this crisis and preparing for it, which I've pointed out on other threads, I still don't believe that Corbyn or Swinton would have done a much better or different job of it and that Johnson is doing OK in his handling of it.

There could be a lot of people looking a little silly if, on the other side of this crisis, it turns out that the UK actually comes out of this better than a lot of other countries.

Any praise or criticism about the handling should go to the experts after this is over.

It wouldn’t matter which party was in government, they would be following the same advice.
