Serendipity

I saw that a local pub has already been robbed since being closed.

No shops for the shoplifters to steal from and people are home so burglars have less opportunity.

There may be an increase, places get robbed every single day.

Won't be long till the army are on the streets anyway

Yes it will, Just like It did during wartime when houses were being bombed and police were not able to cope.

We'll need tougher draconian sentences as a deterrent.

Sort of on the back of the fishing thread. Poaching of fish and the theft of specimen fish from lakes has risen as there’s no one around to keep watch. I imagine shortages in shops have exasperated the situation too.

Liverpool

I just read a story about some low life scumbag drilling holes in ambulance tyres.

Some crimes you can understand,if not condone, but something like that just beggars belief.

I think it will, the police are going to be more stretched with having to break up gatherings of people and patrol to enforce supermarket queuing etc.

There is a good chance that they will be told to ignore low level crime and also crime detection rates could fall which could encourage more criminality.

Travelling

Yes. But honestly it shouldn't really be a surprise that crime of all kinds will go up.

With that said the crime gangs in Brazil are actually enforcing lockdown because their government is even less concerned about it than Trump is.

keep an eye on your catalytic converter.

plenty of vehicles not being used at moment and they can get the converter off quickly like a formula one pit crew

There will be an increase in domestic violence and matricide.

All those poor women, and men, shut up with their abusive partners.

Derbyshire police are now (alledgedly) using their drone to track people who are outdoors

your allowed to walk the dog. What they have said is that try to if you can use it as your exercise.. ie 3 people in the house. Take the dog out individually it possible.

But walking the dog isnt against the law

no its not against the law, you can drive to your local spot... just not drive 20miles to go walking somewhere.... they accept that not everyone has somewhere on their doorsteps.

And that's information from a policeman that stopped me while I was out and about today
