"Yes...I'm the only one staying home. My Mrs in food retail, my ex Mrs and eldest son in patient transport, my youngest son in food distribution, and my friends in the NHS told from tomorrow on 12hr shifts seven days a week." You will find this is wrong. The NHS can not make staff work more than contracted hours. They can ask staff to work on extra and most will due to not wanting to allow colleagues to suffer but all staff are all entitled to time off and at the moment they are pushing that staff don't burn out as it will get worse in weeks to come

"What mixed messages? Stay home (no un necessary journeys or social contact)...unless. 1. Key worker NHS, food supply (or list of retail allowed to stay open. 2. Go out once for exercise (not driving 3 hours to the seaside for a gentle stroll by the sea). 3. To buy essential supplies, such as food and medicine (not a new x box or iPad or new post lockdown party outfit). 4. To travel to and from work where it is not possible to do it at home. I do not understand where the confusion comes from. If you can stay at home with your family dont get close to others." There really are some thick people about. This pandemic has really shown that. Bugger all to be confused about at all.

" Well, I'm certainly not bored This is probably the best time I've had for over 10 years, and the first time I've stayed in my home for more than a few weeks in those 10 years. I'm not getting paid, but I have enough.

I'm also asthmatic all these people whining about being home and bored annoy the hell out of me. I'd love to be at home and not have to be going to work and worried about catching this virus. So basically stay at home unless you are a key worker only go out if absolutely necessary and this thing will pass so much faster. And if you're bored find something to bloody do at home or suck it up.

Ok, so what about 1 and 4? 1 - Stay at home unless you are a key worker, only go out if absolutely necessary 4 - but you can go to work if you cant work from home. So, as a non key worker that cannot work from home, can I go to work? My job could be classed as absolutely necessary by the person wanting it done, they want a bathroom tiling so they can use their bathroom and move back into their house. Others will say that tiling is far from necessary. The police are stopping people on their way to work so what would their interpretation of the situation be? What if I told you that my customer is living with their parents until they have bathroom facilities. This means that they have wash facilities they can use at their parents home so does that mean the bathroom at their own home isn't essential? How about if I told you their parents where in the vulnerable category, should it then be essential to get my customer in their own home and out of their parents? This is my current dilemma

However daughter works for Slimming World def not essential in anyway but her boss basically told her come to work or you get no pay. Too many big businesses bullying staff government needs to put its foot down non essential companies need to close " All employers have a duty of care to their employees. If they aren't showing that to your daughter, then she should refuse to work. The Goverment has issued guidelines to the workplace. These should be adhered to.

So I have to keep coming in. We are presently clear of the virus where I work and doing our best to safe guard. If it does come in things may change but at the moment some staff have already left so we are short staffed and these people who live here need care so I will be in here looking after them. I'll just continue to do all I can to prevent myself getting this which includes staying at home on my days off.

"I really don't understand what is so confusing to people. Let's put it another way If we were told that there was a murderer on the loose, but nobody knew what they looked like, that they could be absolutely anywhere and was killing indiscriminately, would people still want to risk going out? And yet that is EXACTLY the situation we are in. If a foreign power dropped a nuclear bomb on your town and you were told that you'd be OK provided you stayed indoors, I wonder if there would still be people wondering if it applied to them. " Yes,

"I'm self employed and working at a very well known company among operators, some of them continuously coughing and sneezing. Nobody cares about social distance. Children are playing on the car park where I live. First positive case confirmed at the company today. One operator has taken to hospital after showing symptoms, and he is positive. I'm not surprised...as people ignored even simple rules. I saw a woman distributing leaflets with her two kids, she was licking her finger to separate leaflets before pushing through letter boxes. Life is going on in Cheltenham ) "

"I’m sure it’s not just us, but does anybody else think we are being given mixed messages?. In one breath we’re told to stay indoors, & only go out unless it’s absolutely necessary, or you’re a key worker, & in the other breath we’re told to go out to work if we can’t work from home, even if we’re not in a key worker role. Obviously it’s in the governments interest for as many to go to work as possible, so they don’t have to pay them, but they also want to restrict people going out. BJ said both today so really unsure what we should do " If your business isnt key then you shouldn't be asked to work. I work in the construction industry and we have closed all residential work and only continue working at st pancras station ensuring key maintenance works are carried out. My role is office based so I can work from home and I do. If you have not been given key worker status and cant work from home you should not be asked to work.

There is a clear published list of "key work". No confusion ...just confused people...possibly lacking the intelligence to understand...or likely deliberately causing mischief.
