The department of transport have just issued a statement. All vehicles needing an Mot will be given a six month extension on their Mots. Your vehicle will still have to be roadworthy though . Garages will remain open for all necessary repair work

Can you source that please. I can't see it on the Ministry of Transport site

MOT centres are classed as essential services so unless they are planning to close garages to key people and vulnerable only.

Would make sense if they did though

No changes to that - it's still due when it's due.

As a mot tester my self, this is a joke, we have people calling us to put a new set of number plates in their car because the old ones are a bit foggy, can they pop down for this.... I have to repair both professional but at the same time I said maybe you should listen to the government guidelines and if it’s not a emergency then Stay at home.

Gets me so cross! We have had people cancel the mot tests but want a service done it’s beyond belief

Providing their MoT is due on or after 30th March.

Any due before that date are still required to be tested.
