Just heard that new restrictive measures are to be passed to be kept in effect for 6 months and possibly up to two years?

Anyone else heard more?

The Town by The Cross

No. I'll go and watch the news.

It'd take about 2 years to subside.

The Spanish flu certainly did .....

I think the bill gives them stringent extra powers, such as closing down airports.

It doesn't necessarily mean such powers will be used.

Didcot

Hong Kong is closing it’s borders as a second wave of corona virus is spreading

The experts did say it was possible to get a second wave as restrictions are lifted

Worrying times !!!

Yeah that was muted yesterday but just wondering if something else was being pushed through.

It's not the sort of power you want to hand to someone unquestioningly though

I was surprised how the EU was trying to get their members to keep internal borders open. I understand the need for supply lines being kept open but to have free movement I felt was rather a backward step when individual countries felt the need to close them.

Northampton Somewhere

I think they're having a cobra meeting as the daily broadcast has been delayed. Watching the news and waiting for it now.

It’s was discussed on BBC news 24 yesterday. The new powers give government the decision to make changes as circumstances change and evolve. The powers are in place for 2 years but each one is individual and can be revoked at any point
