My thoughts

First he should introduce a law that anyone profiteering would be prosecuted. It might be a minority issue however it would send the right message.

Second. After this is over I would require all individuals to have at least two weeks worth of non perishable food in their homes. I know not everyone will or can do this but if a majority did it would make a huge difference. To put this into context all the current panic buying only amounts to £15.00 per person. And that included the empty beer and Vodka shelves.

In all honesty the entire country needs to be shut down as per others,

This limiting closures is only causing more spread and distress to others not only loosing loved ones but forced to have to carry on as normal as can till someone makes the sensible route

"Country closed"

Everyone stays home

Think about closing the motorways rail and tube to all but non essential personnel. Allow people to out of their homes for a maximum of 60 minutes a day and stay local. If necessary, make the supermarkets delivery only.

The tube is a death trap on a good day.

I avoid it as much as possible especially when I saw green slime dripping from the ceiling of a public walkway link tunnel.

London's dirty, it was built on reclaimed swamp land. God knows what's traveling underneath it. Vermin, drugs, dodgy food outlets. Dodgy air conditioning, old plumbing. Too densely populated. Like most capitals really.

Nice Architecture though.

People deliberately disobeying social distancing advice or rules.

I would round them up. handcuff them inside trucks and send them to a camp where they are left for up to one month in harsh conditions.

these selfish people are placing others at risk so we shouldn't show any sympathy and humiliate them socially.

tough decisions are made for the benefit of us ALL. those that break them should be outted and subjected to online and offline humiliation as a warning to others.

also they should be fined over 10k with payment going to those that have lost loved ones and suffered.

in tough times you need to show no mercy. rules are rules.

It's not possible to shut it down due to the number of key workers who need to use it.

What hasn't helped is our thick in the head mayor Sadiq Khan telling everyone two weeks ago that the tube was totally safe to use. Now him and Transport For London have taken the genius step of closing down tube stations and running a reduced service

If they'd suspended the congestion charge and Low Emission Zone in addition to easing parking restrictions we wouldn't have such a problem now.

Sort of but not exactly. Most economic systems aim for profit but it's why they aim for it and who owns it that names the system.

Capitalism is a system where the government play a secondary role and the means of production are owned by the people.

We have a mixed system of socialist (for all the people, NHS etc), oligarchical (small amount of people own most of the profit), and capitalism here that is veering towards trying to be a free market (don't like to pay for welfare as it generates no profit).

Yes communism is also that but the profits are shared equally and are made to benefit the whole of the community, there is no oligarchy. People are considered equals and their needs equally important. Governments exist to ensure that all people are treated equally also. All welfare is provided by the state and not for private profit.

If you see with capitalism the profits belong to private owners. Free market is encouraged and welfare can be provided by private businesses for profit.

Us in Wolverhampton are also a hotspot in the West Midlands...

Personally i think you should only be out if going for essential provisions or other viable reason (work, medical). You should also have some kind of proof of how many people you need loo roll for. Make sure the kids who aren't in school (kids of essential workers) are also social distancing from their friends & relatives they don't live with...

Medals are tin tokens that governments give out instead of proper recompense. Soldiers who have given everything are awarded a bit of metal and ribbon, then told to fuck off and starve. To be proud of the service they gave their country, but don't dare ask for a decent pension.

So no, there should be no giving of medals. There should be pay rises for both front line and the less visible support workers. There should be proper funding increases for the vital services that keep people alive. There should be compensation payments to dependents of doctors, nurses, cleaners, porters, police, army, bin men who catch this through their work and lose their lives or suffer incapacity. It should be no questions asked, not "commissions" looking into it for five years then doing nothing.

No disrespect to any members of our armed services. You are justly proud of the medals you received, or that your parents, grandparents received in conflicts past. But you deserved more, just as those being asked to risk their lives and their families lives now, deserve more than just the hollow thank you that is probably all the government will give them.

I'm not point scoring, and I'm not criticizing any particular government. I'm criticizing every government that has ever asked it's people to give everything and then given them fuck all in return.

Seen some pictures today of our local seafront showing how many people clearly don't understand what staying at home means - and the behaviour of the idiot pnic buyers at supermarkets tgat have prevented NHS staff from making use of supermarkets opening an hour early just for them makes me hope that the PM steps things up and puts the army out on the streets or something.

The longer these morons continue to ignore the advice the government is giving, the longer we'ee going to have to do it - and they're selfishly risking putting unmanageanle demand on the NHS

Government and medical advice isn't to stay home (unless one of your household displays symptoms), it's to practice safe distance from others.

Total lockdown with severe penalties for those that choose not to adhere to the rules.

Deploy the military to enforce it and secure our towns and cities.

Zero tolerance.

It's not political point scoring at all.

Boris is doing a wonderful job and the Tories have made sure the nhs can deal with this outbreak.

"My thoughts

First he should introduce a law that anyone profiteering would be prosecuted. It might be a minority issue however it would send the right message.

Second. After this is over I would require all individuals to have at least two weeks worth of non perishable food in their homes. I know not everyone will or can do this but if a majority did it would make a huge difference. To put this into context all the current panic buying only amounts to £15.00 per person. And that included the empty beer and Vodka shelves."

Some people don't have two days worth of food in there house.

Some people live pay day to pay day.

Some people need food banks that will now have nothing.

Some people will be kicked out by slum lords after losing there zero hour jobs.

But some people are spending £500 plus on extra food.

It's time for a change after all this

Thank fuck I’m a product of the sixties and seventies, as a kid I learned about survival! I learned as a kid to build things from nothing. I learned how to use my brain when playing. I learned how to look for food in hedge rows, we caught rabbits and took then home to mum for dinner. I learned that if I needed a poo outside, what plants would wipe me clean, I learned to use survival tools, a knife, a axe, a saw, and the jokes it’s held together with string and willpower, as a kid our minds were sponges and even to this day, those skills are still with me! But, from the eighties onward, kids haven’t been able to learn a damb thing, there’s no learning apart from sitting in front of a tv screen, the introduction of games consoles all be it tic tac toe to begin with, kids are so reliant on there parents to supply them with there daily needs, and now those eighties kids are adults and parents, is it any wonder that there’s so much hatred in this world, it breeds a selfish society, and now that lack of just playing is showing what this society has bred! I’d welcome a total shut down if all the services, because I know me and my family would survive! This virus is just the tip of the iceberg! It’s probably going to get one hell of a lot worse unless we take a really hard look at ourselves. The elderly are going to suffer first as our society throws them aside as discarded rubbish and I really feel for them. The so called people in charge! The top 1%! They don’t give a shit about how people will have to live, so long as they’ve got food in there bellies, so all they’ll do is waist time and not put a proper action plan together. I’ve a normal guy, who cares about people, I’ve always tried to respect others, but society has just gone to far away from need and survival to pure greed? We all need to pull together as one United country, let all create a land army, where everyone helps there neighbors! If we all stick together, we’ll all get through this, healthy. This is just my opinion.

It’s unfortunate you didn’t learn about paragraphs though . Makes it hard to read.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist!

Being serious though, I agree with quite a lot of that

I would first of all cancel brexit then introduce a curfew where you only could go out to buy food and restriction to dog walkers to only be in their local park.

If the police would see a dog walker they would get the power to ask where they live and if they catch them too far they would have to return home.
