Mr Fanta is a hgv driver delivering chemicals to hospital water treatment plants and drug manufacturers......

Would say can the car drivers stay well away from them on roads and especially on motorways give us the space to drive and we will stock the shelves off toilet roll and vegetables and fruit for the over worked nhs

At least the truckers are still earning a wage unlike some who are told to stay away and it is a truckers job to deliver goods what next a round of applause for the postman delivering the mail

The main thing is not to allow this to divide the people. It is no use slagging off those that prepared for a week or two indoors. The media love this especially the BBC for being total wankers for putting the Nurse on moaning about people panic buying. Nobody looks bad here apart from the people themselves fighting each other. Terrible but am sure it will settle.

Currently working extra shifts delivering food to supermarket distribution centres.

I don't think of myself as a hero, just doing my bit.

But I would appeal to everyone, please please please....don't buy more than you need.There will be no shortages if everyone remains calm, sensible and considerate.

Also, when I finally do get home, I need to go shopping to get supplies for another 6 days so I can do it all again. So please, leave some for me and others who are still working,trying our best.

On a lighter note,,,,please don't offer me 'light relief' in a lay by at night. I like my beauty sleep and that is hardly social distancing.

Because when you get abuse day in day out while just doing your job because the majority of people have no clue what’s involved in moving large lorries around small streets, you know you’re hated every day.

So unless you drive an HGV you’ve no idea what we go through every single day.

I’ve been saying for years that without us life would grind to a halt. And yet the people driving 44 ton 60 foot long guided missiles every day do so while being paid £10-£12 an hour in many cases. Why? Because someone has to.

So yes, HGV drivers ARE hated every day but we still do it for a shit wage because if we didn’t - there would be nothing for anyone.

Look around you - EVERYTHING has been in a minimum of 5 lorries. Guaranteed.

try finding anywhere safe to park over night where your fuel or load wont get stolen where theres somewhere to wash or shower to obtain decent food at a descent price and when you do dont let the local nimbys getting shut down .then when you've done that try driving for upto 10 hrs a day on our busy roads with every car driver doing there best to cut you up or block you out then you will understand why we think we are hated

Underpaid, overworked. Did it for nearly 30 yrs. Been out of a truck for 3 yrs, but still involved with trucks working in a commercial dealer repair shop.we have to keep going to keep the trucks on the road. All doing a good job.
