After trump trying to hype a anti malaria drug as the cure on a hunch

I wonder if fujifilm have the real cure.

Cant put a link to it as it's not a approved link...so Google "Avigan".

Your thoughts?

I read about that, think they were saying it needs to be administered very early on to have an effect

Sounds effective but without early testing it won't work

there are many current drugs being re trialed so i think there may already be a few cures world wide soon ... lets hope so as it will be better than waiting for a completely new drug time wise and money wise

I’m afraid that by the time any cure or vaccine comes on line we will have long since peaked. Unfortunately following advice is all we’ve got.

There's a rumour circulating that Quinine works on the virus, allegedly from medics in France.

I'll wait & see.

That and the saline mouth rinse have both been fake news, not before it was found that so many people had stockpiled tonic water

Im usually on 3 grams a day but currently on 10 grams as I have asthma. When I get a chest infection I take it up as high as I can like 30-40 grams.

No oranges available but vit c tablets still on the shelves

couple, us we him her.

Well until a proven cure is announced I am not going to be listening to advice from some who read that someone posted something on somewhere that a friend of a friend heard it from a taxi driver who spoke to a doctor's.... cousin in outer Mongolia that chilled monkey brain helps.

No offence but whilst eating extra oranges isn't a bad thing taking too much vit c can be dangerous.

Until then I am going to eat a balanced healthy diet assuming I can get food.

Drink plenty of water get fresh air and hope that they do find something to even slow it down to allow time for treatment of the infected.

One thing we can be totally certain of.

That some massive pharmaceutical company is going to make trillions out of a cure.

Maybe worth seeing what pharmaceutical companies US senators invested in recently too find out who has the cure

I don't really understand crazy high doses of vitamin c as it's a water soluble vitamin, therefore whatever your body doesn't need at the time it gets rid of....

This is too serious. Multiple companies will be making the vaccine to meet the required production volume for the world population. The companies are also putting multi millions into the research for a vaccine.

Read somewhere that if you can hold your breath for a minimum of 15 secs without feeling unwell the chances of contracting covid 19 are minimal..........

{ I have to do that every day anyway when I follow Mr N into Bathroom } so i reckon Im low risk

The reason toilet roll is in such demand is simply this : If one person just happens to sneeze at least 200 other people shit them selves

I've heard that toilet roll is a cure, and the more you have the quicker you'll recover...

Big pharma makes money from drugs you have to keep taking...treatments rather than cures. Vaccines are less of a money spinner.

This is 8 tablets on day 1 then 3 tablets from day 2 to 5 per day. Been looking into this and it looks very promising

I've read that if you pat your head whilst rubbing your tummy in a clockwise direction at the same time whilst humming the tune to coronation Street you will be immune.

In your bed

There will be lots of treatments but I suspect that it will be a combination or different treatments for different people rather than a silver bullet treatment.

It will be interesting if they do find a treatment as to what level of effectiveness they are willing to tolerate.

At the moment the best calculations for the death rate of the virus are between 1-2%.

This has been seen as too high and we have had a global shutdown. If a treatment is effective say 90% will that be deemed sufficient to risk reverting back to normal behaviors?

Its a hard call but someone will have to make the caluous decision of what is an acceptable death rate as we won't get 100% cure.

I picked 90% as that would reduce deaths to normal flu levels.

But what if it is only 85% effective or 65% or 45%.

Where do you draw the line?

When you say cure you meaning vaccination, as drugs will help fight the virus and prevent a percentage of people as people have different biological systems, a Vaccination is the only way you stop the virus, like all biological life on earth it find a new transmission source, it's sadly part of being alive. Nanotechnology could be a distant future solution to help boost immune system, instead of using in military armour.

A flu vaccine does not stop you getting the flu...that I can testify after having one late last year then getting the flu and pneumonia early this year.

This will not cure all but as I said it looks promising and it's being used now as a anti viral drug.

It's the closest thing to a cure out there now and as a vaccine will be at least a year...with no guarantee it will work...then add to that the amount of people who will die in that time.

Yeah I'm hopeful this will stop a lot of people dying in the time it takes for a vaccine to be developed..
