All this panic buying, job losses , news items, and forecast that the epidemic will hit big time in 2 weeks, is it taking a toll on mental health?

Im off work now and not sure if I'll be able to weather this one out , besides the virus threat

It's un nerving me a bit!

Ho is everyone keeping their heads?

Not reading and listening to too much media hype helps...

Can recommend meditation, lots of apps around x

My usual anxiety coping mechanisms. (Public service announcement: this is what an anxiety disorder feels like, for future reference)

Deep breathing, control what I can, diet and exercise, talk myself through it, give myself occasional space to process the feelings but not dwell

In a constant state of anxiousness not sure weather to laugh hysterically or cry hysterically.

So take solace that your not alone.

I was driving to a job Wednesday and had to pull over and have a good cry.

I'm a 16 and a half stone hairy arsed builder and pretty thick skinned.

No body is going to judge anyone for feeling vulnerable and anxious at the moment.

Peace and love to you all , you may feel alone but we are all in this together virtual hugs and kisses to all xxooxx

It's a very real issue, I'm keeping in touch remotely with friends and family.

Also keep busy around the house, avoid too much news - stick a good film on, cook something you've never cooked before.

Go for a walk/jog.

Worried about my Dad.

Daily phone calls to him to make sure he’s listening to the advice and not wandering about.

Work keeps me very busy but seeing what’s happening out here and seeing the very rock bottom of humanity is making me sad.

For those worried about the elderly... Charities exist to help care for isolated older people, and they're working on it. Worth looking into for relatives.

I’m staying off here more than I usually would. Alarmist local status updates and unreliable claims don’t help, they cause panic.

I’m getting my info from online sources that I choose to seek out or the radio news.

I’m now only able to work one day a week so I can look after my children so I’ll be fairly isolated away from panic mongers, thankfully.

We live with my mum who has health issues so it’s just a case of reminding my little ones to be mindful of hygiene and no getting too close to nanny with hugs and kisses right now. They are now blowing her a kiss, from the doorway, just to be safe.

If anything happened to my mum THEN I would unravel, but at the moment you just have to do the best you can. Life has to go on.

Yeh I’m bricking it to be honest ,at first I was it’s only a flu , get over it , but the world has gone crazy over it , it has to be worse than anything we have had before , shops closing people fighting over loo rolls , warnings about going out , the atmosphere is very strange out there like something is about to kick off , plus we don’t even have an end to this nightmare, scary times

The experts are working on it. We just need to follow the public health process as best we can and look after each other.

The effects will be long lasting once the virus itself is tamed.

It’s been quite difficult this week at work, as we are the ones people turn to for help and to have all the answers. The fact is, as knowledgeable as I am on such things as employment law and welfare benefits, I have much of the same resources as those asking for help.

The thing to remember, is that there are people working hard to help with the things they can help with. As to the unknowns, as things develop, please please rely only on trusted sources of information. Social media is there to help people stay in touch but don’t let it infect your mind with all the “I heard this” “my whoever did that”.

am watching the news for half hour a day in the evening and thats it just to find out the headlines.rest of time its perving on here posting in the forums or trying to finish some games on playstation.best thing to do is try not to watch the news constantly as will just end up freaking yourself out

In my happy place

Im on leave, was planned. Have sorted my wardrobe. Had cuppa in garden with coat on.

Watched a film.

Made food.

Kept moving.

Just do a day at a time xx
