Once this horrible disease is over I hope the government looks after these workers that have been at the front of the battle, after years of austerity and cuts too front line services I really hope the government looks after those that have looked after us and our loved ones.

Let's face it would you want to face patients who have this deadly disease day in day out?

wish they would do the same for care workers who always seem to be kicked to the bottom of the pile yet work just as hard at protecting people

Personally, I think you’re ALL awesome x

To the point I emailed my local NHS chief executive and offered to pick up litter or drive for her if she ever needed extra help to try and make sure you awesome people can concentrate on your own jobs. Free of charge I might add.

She was overwhelmed and couldn’t stop thanking me and said if it gets that bad, she will call and ask for help.

I’m in a privileged position where I can offer her my help directly as I know her.

But don’t let it scare anyone off. If things get really bad and you’re healthy, offer your local NHS a hand. Go on their website - there will ALWAYS be a contact email.

Stay safe angels x

Some of the free drinks on offer include care workers. I’m sure McDonald’s are one.

Isn’t it amazing how the lower paid staff that are deemed easily replaceable are now essential. Nhs staff, care staff, shop assistants, lorry drivers. Often we’re low paid and treated as unimportant, yet here we are being expected to keep things running. Sorry if I forget an important group from the list. I’m feeling ranty.

Rant away.

This will shock people I expect but did you know that a lot of the people driving those 44Ton 15’6” high, 56’ long double decker artics are being paid less than someone who stocks shelves at night in Tesco?????

Just something to think about....

Especially as one lapse in concentration could kill more than a dozen people.

What should be done is those in the nhs that are dealing with this should get rewarded with real bonuses.

Year off council tax.

Lower mortgage/loan rates only available to them.including rent relief.

No car parking costs at the hospital.

The very least that should be done is that they came come home, relax and not worry about bills or costs.

They are stressed enough.

You would like to think so would'nt you ........but please dont hold your breath .....look at our soldiers throughout time and our Miners during 2 world wars ..... how did the iron get smelted to build tanks and planes ....it wasnt melted by the sun ....... even now they will mobilise the troops when looting starts ....its coming ....... Every government think Drs Nurses Soldiers Ambulance Police Fire Servicemen and Women...etc.... are immune to everything Viruses Battle Stress Low incomes etc....

Lovely kind thought though OP hope we can all join together and celebrate these people Thank you !!!

Planet Ork

Well so far, my holiday for Easter and the foreseeable future has been cancelled. My overtime has been cancelled ( because my overtime is in theatres and they’ve cancelled all operations ), my shift patterns have been altered, we’ve been left in no doubt that in all probability we will catch this disease as they estimate that at a third of the staff will be off at any one point and now it looks like the school probably won’t continue to take my youngest because only I am classed as a key worker and not both of us! Oh well, at least I can get a free drink from McDonald’s
