"I know it's not a virus but I thought i would post here as it's about health. Long story short I'm an electrician who's had back problems for years and just got on with it, but last week got diagnosed with scoliosis, And my spine is leaning slightly to the right. I don't know anyone who has scoliosis, so just wondering if anyone else has it and what works for you manage to the pain? And were you able to straighten it at all? ? The DR just prescribed painkillers and booted me out the door lol 🤣 so I'm looking for actual advice on what to do next. " Stretching exercise. Yoga, Tai Chi, thing like that. Swimming Sauna and steam

"Possibly, it's musculoskeletal médecine. If I was you I'd wait until you've seen the specialist. Really prepare for your appointment have a list of things you can't do, how your pain is affecting you and what you'd like the outcome to be. Don't be tempted by osteopaths or chiropractors until they've confirmed that it's ok and ask if physio will help. Good luck Ah got it, ok will do good shout because I always feel like I forgot to tell them something! And ok yeah ill hold off on that, and yeah would rather physio that more meds like you say. Thanks for your help!😁😁

"Get a proper diagnosis. I do Pilates two times a week and do some of the exercises at home. I do still get back pain, especially if I sit for too long at my PC. But it is less frequent than it used to be. " Sweet I'll look into that see what I can do at home 👍 ok cool I'd rather do more at home at the minute while the pains still bad And yeah same actually, sittings a relief at the time but worse when you stand up 🤣. Thanks mate!!

"Painkiller are actually great for many types of back pain , especially anti inflammatory, but regular ones too as they allow you have a correct posture and move more normally which can help heal it. Other things are good too like nerve root blockers, ice pack, flexibility and core work , walking, standing desks, even physio and chiro and surgery . but you gotta do all your own research and experiment to find what works best. Spines are too complex & important to rely on a GP or even single solution specialist" I only got prescribed nefopam painkillers, I'll go get some Ibuprofen for the anti inflammatory then cheers 👍 Sweet I'll look into them now, but yeah youre right trying to research myself but so many mixed results, but like you say everyone's different 😁 Thanks for your help!

"I have scoliosis, had it all my life and I'm used to the pain. It helps having high pain threshold. Scoliosis is a relatively common diagnosis, definitely do arrange a physio appointment (you might be able to do self-referral). Low impact exercise is good for scoliosis, like swimming. Yoga and pilates are good, too " Damn that's sucks, I don't think I've had it that long just only went Dr about it when the pain really started, it's easing off now, but yeah gotta get used to it I suppose 🤣 Yeah it does seem to be more common that I thought, untill looking into it that's why I thought I'd ask here, for some real world advice. So thank you! 😁 Ok great I'll definitely do that! And yeah swimming seems to be the one, I'ts been a while though 👀🤣
