Not personally but after my mum had serious health issues she lost confidence and didn't want to go out. Eventually a situation occured where she needed some cash and I refused to get it for her but offered to accompany her to the cash point. She eventually agreed to come with me and after that gradually regained confidence

I have had a couple of surgeries on one of my eyes and have completely lost confidence in my ability to see accurately and judge distances which has made me reluctant to drive.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this, do you have a friend who will accompany you on a few short outings?

I guess we all react differently to circumstances.

A friend of mine had a big scar after an operation but he dealt with it by making various different stories up around it.

Think fighting off a shark etc etc

Not saying it would work for you though

The way I look at it is if you’ve beat cancer but then don’t go out etc the dam cancer has won a small battle

Get out and whip cancers ass again 🤜

"Thanks that made me smile maybe I will say I had a fight with a shark "

It breaks the ice and if it makes you laugh you’re half way to getting through the initial fright

Count your blessings it was just your earlobe. And forget it. Consider it a duelling scar and wear it with pride.

To to hear about you sight, have you looked in to lens replacement, the wife had hers done in Prague.

I will be looking to go when I'm 60
