"Spoke to a doctor last week. Over the counter do not work. Blood tests at the doctors to check liver function. Course of tablets are the only thing that works. The infection is under the nail. Lamasil treats athletes foot and possibly fungle nail, but several athletes foot treatments also treat the bain of our lives Jock Itch. Can I conclude having read all the thread that Jock Itch, fungle nail and athletes foot are all related 'illness' and can be treated with Vick. Asking for itching friend  | |||

"Use tea tree oil. Every day." I second this. I am using tea tree oil 2x a day on my big toe nail...stopped the fungus and the discoloration has almost grown out in 4 months. Dr Organic Tea Tree Nail Solution. | |||

Some OTC products may in fact also clear the fungal infection but, similar to when drugs are used, re infection happens when you come in contact with the fungal spores once again through footwear, socks or public areas where people go barefoot. | |||
