Corrective labiaplasty

I'm due to have corrective surgery post birth (which was 15yrs ago). TMI but basically one of the labia spilt mid healing so now it's in 2 parts. It's bothered me all these years but I thought nothing could be done about it. I'm always paranoid about it, it gets in thr way and after all these years I realised I can. My question is for those that have had a repair done, not the one for cosmetic appearances... Is it worth it? ... If I have managed all these years without it do I need to go through with it and do you lose any sensitivity? . What is the recovery like on a repair. I know with full labiaplasty it my be longer but wonder if it's less for a repair on one side. I know I can Google this but would like to hear first hand experience. Just a little worried as post birth I didn't want sex for a least a Yr and half later... Dnt what this to be the case here.

I would be asking the surgeon these questions, they would know more than people on here as they see so many patients they can get the feedback and base results off of that.

However asking here won't hurt you might get some answers

It's going to be difficult to know, the unknown, can even the doctor say with confidence? All I know in some cultures labia are stretched with the intent of increasing sexual pleasure for the woman and man. You know what it was like before, after your pregnancy and now, so you are best placed to essentially guess what the effects will be on your body?

Good luck Op, it sounds like an incredibly difficult decision

Are there any forums elsewhere on the net dedicated to this kind of surgery?

I used to work in the cosmetic surgery sector. I can’t comment specifically on corrective labiaplasty but the results and recovery from standard labiaplasty were generally very good. We used to advise 1 week off work, pain usually subsided after 1-2 weeks and we advised at least 6 weeks before any strenuous exercise or sexual activity. We used to suggest keeping a jug of cool water handy to pour over the area when going for a wee the first week or so. Loss or change of sensitivity is fairly common but usually only temporary. I would recommend researching your surgeon (if you haven’t already) and most decent clinics should also be able to provide a selection of before and afters. I hope all goes well 😊

I’ve had a labia reduction - mainly for cosmetic purposes - not helped by many years on these forums - but also I found it uncomfortable - so I can only comment on it from that respect but it was so simple I almost forgot I’d had it done.

It’s changed bikini wearing etc for me - I’d recommend it in a heartbeat xx
