Ear drops

After suffering damage to my left ear a while back, I find it clogs with wax constantly. I tried ear drops but it seems only a temporary solution, but a week or so later it’s back to square one. Is there anything better than drops I can try?

Olive oil once a week. There’s a spray called earol which I use. Helps to soften the wax.

You can get an ear wax tool of Ama..n and use that to clean out your ears, but don't push it on too far.

Best thing is to use the olive oil drops for a few days to soften the wax and then use a syringe with a nozzle with multiple holes(can get from Amazon) and irrigate the ear with warm water

You’ll be amazed at what comes out

Hey pharmacy staff here,

I'd advise to use olive oil ear drops 2 - 3 times daily, you can do this for 3 weeks. If there's no improvement id book a non urgent GP appointment, you might need it investigating by ENT (ear nose and throat specialist)

Somewhere in the middle not the.....

Get it removed by a professional ie an audiologist or depending on the previous damage to your ear ask for a referral to ENT thats the quickest and safest way to sort it. Olive oil twice a day liberally and the key is to let it sit in the ear for at least 5-10 mins, it may take weeks to have an affect though. You're supposed to have wax in the ear just not excessive amounts, whatever you do please don't buy tools online, you'll end up pushing it back in or worst case damaging your canal/eardrum.

(And yes I know what I'm talking about 😂)

The guy told me not to use anything other than olive oil. Flood the ear with it and let gravity work.

He said the Otex and similar can make the wax sticky which makes it harder to remove with suction.

NHS cut backs local surgery does not do ear wax removal any more, if you don't want to pay for a professional service warm a teaspoon tip a little olive oil in it then lye on your side and tip it in your ear, do this twice a day for a few days then use a douche bulb with warm water and flush your ear. Did buy a bulb for the purpose in boots but that was too small to be of much use so now use one designed for flushing private parts.

Thats true if your gonna have your ears sucked in my case i dont go to docs otex sorts it out with painkillers 🤣

I have similar problems to the OP, and when consulting with my GP, I mentioned that I used Otex drops, causing her to grimace at their mention.

I then assured her it was the olive-oil only variety, and was relived, as she said that the Otex with the active chemicals in them cause much more problems than they stop.

Put one hand over your nose and pick it tight , then get your wife to hit your balls with a mallet

This soon clears your ears

The candles dont do anything, the 'wax' you see on them after is just the beeswax the paper is coated in.
