The "experimental" vaccine allowed us to get back to our lives, and the extremely vulnerable people to be looked after by trained professionals (no, I don't agree with the policy "get vaccinated or you couldn't work in care, but that was reality then). The governments acted on the information they had at that time, and society acted on information available at that time. Big pharma got bigger, but that's normal in war times, someone always profiteers, even if the war is against an invisible enemy.

In 10, 20, 50 or 100 years, history will judge those times, like with any other events. However, I'm not going to get myself mad over that. OP, I'd suggest just live your life to the fullest and don't worry about the impact of the "experimental" vaccine.

If we are talking the Covid vaccine recent news

* it’s now been shown to offer cancer patients receiving immunotherapy an almost 30% higher survival rate.

* vaccinated pregnant people have less pre-term births

* A landmark study of nearly 14 million children in England has revealed that the Covid infection carries a higher risk of heart complications than the vaccination

I’m not sure there’s much to apologise about on this

Are you denegrating the scientific community who specialise in the medical field alongside others who, I don’t know……formulated the Prep medication you take on demand or continue to develop the sexual health screening you undertake so you can enjoy the sexual freedoms you seek from this site and community, or maybe the geneticists who continue their tireless work to explore and explain chromosomal differences and hormonal treatments that allow people to transition? I’m trying very hard to understand your argument but you’re not giving me much to go on I’m afraid. You’re telling me “that what I tell myself” when it’s what I literally experience. Well the UK used to be a declared measles free country, but due to lots of folks over the last decade refusing the measles vaccine that is no longer the case. Vaccination works, yes there may be a small risk but the risk of the disease is greater - it's a bit like insurance

As an aside I read yesterday that the UK can no longer claim to be measles free. This is in no small part due to the anti vaccine movement.

"So has everybody that took the experimental vaccine apologised to everybody that warned everybody against it yet ?

😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅😂😁😄😃😆😅

Damn! You owe me another coffee for the one I sprayed across my desk…"

Vaccines that have saved 154 million lives, mostly children aged 5 and under…

Smallpox: The only human disease to have been completely eradicated, thanks to a successful global vaccination program. Before the vaccine, it killed around 300 million people in the 20th century alone.

Polio: Cases have decreased by over 99.9% since the Global Polio Eradication Initiative launched in 1988. Mass vaccination campaigns have prevented more than 20 million people, mostly children, from paralysis.

Measles: The measles vaccine has saved the most lives out of any vaccine since 1974, accounting for approximately 94 million lives saved in the last 50 years. It is highly contagious and was a leading cause of childhood death and disability before the vaccine's introduction.

Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (whooping cough, nearly killed my sister): The DTP vaccine, often used as a benchmark for global immunisation coverage, has dramatically reduced the incidence and mortality of these diseases. Before widespread vaccination, these were major causes of childhood illness and death.

Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib): Once the leading cause of bacterial meningitis in U.S. children, the Hib vaccine has reduced annual cases by over 99%.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV): While the full impact on mortality will be seen in the future, the HPV vaccine prevents the specific virus strains that cause up to 90% of cervical cancer cases.

Plus the multitude of other medicines that save our lives… maybe you take Prep or rely on others to take it?

In just the first year the vaccine was available, the COVID-19 vaccinations are estimated to have prevented nearly 20 million deaths worldwide, significantly altering the course of the pandemic.

These things are never particularly rational, in how they're thought through.

As others have said - the number of deaths from measles is now very worrying, when they are all preventable. The thought of poor children getting infected and getting disabled or worse, by a virus that shouldn't have a foothold in this country, is alarming and upsetting

But some want to claim their right to free speech, spreading dangerous nonsense

There was some crazy takes in this forum at the time. Strange days indeed. As Mark Twain once quite rightly said “It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.”

People won’t admit some of the craziness. It’s easier for them to double down, but they know. Let’s just hope they apply a little more critical thinking next time. We were all lied to, don’t be angry with each other, division is what they want. Be angry at the people that lied to US.

As they said: it’s easier to fool people than to convince them they’ve been fooled.

They believed to crazy anti vaxxers, retired nurses on YouTube, disgraced doctors, pretend scientists and bad politicians and now instead of admitting that they’ve been gullible, they still try to convince someone they were the smart ones.

It’s sad, but at the same time so funny to still see these posts

"There was some crazy takes in this forum at the time.

I'm assuming you are referring to the fake doctors in YouTube that claimed that lockdowns where people didn't meet each other wouldn't stop the spread, the morons that can't figure out that face coverings reduce the distance virus particles are spewed out from an infected person and the sheep that sucked up this bullshit ?"

Division ain’t my game. Live and let live, don’t get angry at me, get angry at the people that told you it was a killer virus that would wipe us all out and that a mask would protect you.

It’s sad, but at the same time so funny to still see these posts "

And you’re still angry at the people that turned out to be right? Wowzer.

"So has everybody that took the experimental vaccine apologised to everybody that warned everybody against it yet ? "

I couldn’t. Trump said to drink bleach instead. Best day of my life. True story

COVID, Shingles, flu, MMR, TABT, Yellow Fever, Cholera, Smallpox, Polio I’ve had the lot! And I’ll keep doing so. Sad to see measles rearing its ugly head in the US but shameful they’ve let Kennedy be in charge. It will be years after he’s removed before they get their infectious diseases under control.

I think where I live in Devon uptake of vaccinations is about 99%. WASP boomers the lot of us!!!

That the thing mate. You weren’t right, aren’t right, never will be right.

I’m not angry, I’m laughing at people like you. Because it’s not simply being unable to admit you were wrong and fooled by some grifters, but you can’t move on despite years passed from the pandemic and millions of vaccine doses

I love threads like these. The angry conspiracy nutjobs come out of the woodwork and the block button gets hot from so much use

Yeah and by extending the same logic, I love that I'm king of the world and can fart in seventeen different languages

"The governments acted on the information they had at that time, and society acted on "

While I agree with the sentiment of your response I have to call BS on this particular statement. Government misrepresented the science at the time and did not pay any attention to it in regard of their own actions. What they did to the care home communities was diabolical. How they were cavorting in mass gatherings, and more intimately in broom closets while we (the late HMQ included) could not attend anything resembling a normal funeral for our lives ones is despicable and truly unforgivable.

Interestingly, OP retreated quite quickly. They played he usual confused cards from the anti vaxxer manual too early: the spike vaccine, the nazi card, the “I’ll move the lamppost because I can’t reply to your arguments” card, the “you all owe me an apology because I’m smart and you’re not”, the “you’ll all die soon because of the spike, any time now, I’ve been saying this since 2022 but it’s definitely happening this time”…

Amusing, albeit predictable.

TBF, they received a temp ban for bullying. The comments that were reported and replies to them, have been removed by mods.

Not sure how long that lasts though
