Flu jab. Who has it? Who's had any weird/amusing side effects?

Have one every year.

Got mine booked for Friday 3rd of October.

Hopefully it won't make me feel like 💩.

Last year I lost all strength in my left arm for around 2 hours.

Couldn't even lift my pint mug.

Not booked it yet. The Covid autumn booster starts from October, so will probably have the flu jab in October.

Having a very relaxed arm when injected can mean there's less impact on your arm tissue. Likewise, having the injector doing it calmly and less forcefully into your arm would reduce the potential for tissue impact.

Some ibuprofen or paracetamol could reduce the potential for soreness. You can use both simultaneously.

We have one every year, having had flu twice I'd rather not have it again.

One unusual side effect is that it also makes you immune to people who deliberately try to wind you up.

I used to get one but I was vaccine injured after Covid so don’t have them now, not had flu since I was 8 or so, had it really bad then so probably built up a decent immunity as it is.

Get it every year.

I nearly died of the flu in 2019, and who knows who I passed it to before getting so sick. Absolutely worth a sore arm and feeling dicey for a day.

The vaccine can't infect you with flu but you can get infected from other people, until your immunity from it has developed.

You cannot get flu from the jab. It's not a live vaccine. You can get flu from the nasal spray as that is live

There is nothing that could get me to take any jabs these days. I used to get the flu jab as I suffered with asthma, however after the scam of covid there is no chance this government could jab me. I would rather take my chances with nature.

So you decided to insult me for for my own choice. Ooooh, the usual conspiracy theorist repertoire. Nothing new nor original, it’s the same, easily debunked stuff all the time.

A little update from the realm of reality:

1)Covid vaccines are safe.

2)No one is going to court because they are not

3)It’s not simply your choice, when your choice has consequences for other people. This is typical of contagious diseases.

If you think a guy like you can call someone else clown, you’re even more delusional than I thought you were. "

Lol, covid is a strain of the common cold. Has been known of for decades. I myself never caught "covid" I havent had the flu since I stopped eating processed food. Clean living irradiates illnesses like sheeple such as yourself struggle with. Honestly. Do what you want. Its your life. Me not getting vaccinated is my choice. The BBC told you it was dangerous the same company who have been harbouring nonce's and sex offenders since before I was born. Enjoy yourself. This is a place where people can speak freely. I did not request your opinion of my choices. I won't judge you on yours!

The world is full of nutters thats why..

It must say something about any of these gimmick jabs that even my cousin who's in his 60s and is a top consultant in the UK won't go anywhere near them and advised me against any jabs in the future...

Imagine being this far along into it all and not being the least bit suspicious… I think if you haven’t been called a conspiracy theorist by someone / the media by now then you’re probably just not smart. If Big pharma made you better, they would make no profit. They own everything that make you sick and manufacture the medicines that make you better. The world is a stage.

Covid is not a strain of the “common flu”. Is a different virus, who made a jump from animals to humans. Why talking about stuff you don’t know about?

Yeah, you can now avoid vaccinating against it. Doesn’t mean you can say utter lies about it. It is not the menace it was thanks to the worldwide vaccination program.

You can have your opinions. But you cannot have your own facts: if you say porkies about the pandemic, the virus and the vaccines, I will call them for what they are: porkies

By the way, I find amusing that a guy who repeats the same old tropes he read on internet from some grifter and conspiracy theorists (I know them all by now), call others “sheep” while keeping a straight face. The irony…

Can I kindly ask the tin foil hat conspiracy theorists on here to stop messaging me privately? I won’t change my mind and keep calling out their nonsense, and if they want to show their ignorance and naivety they may as well do it on here so normal people can have a laugh.

Having said that, I’m just about to book my flu jab. Never had any issues with them apart from some pain on the injection site, which may last from a couple of hours to a night. I thoroughly recommend them for everyone, especially the elderly and people at risk. For people out of these categories, they have the benefit of making you avoid the annoying week off sick from work and still avoiding potentially bad complications.

No medical intervention is 100% safe, but of all medicines, vaccines are some of the safest. If you wanna see what happens when people listen to grifters, have a look at the measles epidemic in Texas, where they had the first deaths from it in over 20 years.

When I asked the nurse about it she said it happens occasionally and something was just slightly caught inside my arm and caused an injury. Very weird and never happened before. If I decide to have one again I'll just go to the doctor's instead. I've been messaged but I'm not bothering this year.

"Frontline nhs worker here, i have my flu jab every year. Had flu once like 3 years ago (never had a jab before this) my god. I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy, the flu definitely knocked me off my feet.

Get flu jab now every year.

WE MUST REMEMBER EVERYONE HAS A CHOICE AND WE SHOULDN'T JUDGE WHAT PEOPLE WANT TO DO WITH THEIR HEALTH CHOICES. "

I get my flu jab on Friday.

I have had flu twice in my life and both times it absolutely floored me.

I'm not at a stage where I feel the need for a flu vaccine, but only because I'm generally indestructible I have nothing against them though, and will definitely have them when I'm older.

Hopefully it won't make me feel like 💩.

Had flu jab a couple of weeks ago. Felt slightly like I had flu for 24 hours but regular doses of paracetamol kept it in check. Asked about a Covid shot and was told they are free to those aged 75 or over, everyone else it’s £80. As I know that if I get Covid it will really hit me hard I’ll probably pay the £80.

"My girlfriend had it last year and she ended up with the flu for 2 weeks, she said never again will she have it"

The flu vaccine injection is a deactivated virus. It cannot give you flu. Your partner obviously contracted a different strain and now wrongly associates it with the vaccine.

The nasal spray is a live attenuated virus, so it will give a person flu like symptoms. If they are immunocompromised or immune suppressed then likely it will progress to full flu.

Experiencing short term symptoms means only that you have a healthy immune system and it’s responding appropriately to the deactivated viral strain that is the flu vaccine.

"Not booked it yet.

It’s a minute jab in your own stop building it up into something else

Rainbow very kindly treated me to a private Covid jab. I have MECFS and know many people who went from mild/ moderate like me to being now in a bed bound state with severe ME after having Covid. I wouldn't wish severe ME even in my worst enemy.

Crikey folks as with any flu/covid/MMR injections some will be affected more than others and having flu last year which knocked me for 6 but folk by now surely know there can be side effects but I would have the jabs as long as I alive. Without the jabs it likely would be lot worse.

It should be a rare occurrence but as we age, our immune systems become less effective, so the strong benefits we've had when younger are more likely to disappear.

We're also at greater risk of having more severe illness or losing our life from infections like flu.

Have it every year and had mine 5 weeks back. Never had any issues and arm never been sore. But got offered the gonorrhoea vaccine on last check up at GUM clinic,ok not 100 effective but if you do get it it’s mild and easier to treat plus added bonus it the meningitis vaccination and they said they found it was effective for gonorrhoea. Win win vaccinated against two. It’s double vac and Jez both times arm killed for two weeks. They said it could do it. But worth it.

Unfortunately there's a powerful strain of flu doing the rounds which wasn't vaccinated against.

Are you sure it's flu tho and not just a heavy cold? far too many people confuse the two, however once you have had the flu properly you'll know the difference.

I had the childhood vaccines,yes.

There's ia also a big difference between a virus and a disease.

I was talking more about the covid and flu vaccines.

Though I have extensively researched vaccines over the years. Looking at peer reviewed studies, trails data, and people's own personal stories,to name a few. (Not YouTube or Google,as most people assume.)

From this I have come to the conclusion that I do not need the flu jab or covid jab....or any others,if I were to be honest.

The link below is an eye-opener(and pretty shocking) if you are interested. I'd love to hear your thoughts if you do watch it 🫣

"No jabs here. I leave it up to my immune system. So far so good. Not far off 50. Never had flu/covid and very rarely get ill.

If it ain't broke why try to fix it 🤷‍♀️

I ask you the same question have you never been vaccinated against polio or TB, have you relied on your immune system to stop you from getting those diseases?

I had the childhood vaccines,yes.

There's ia also a big difference between a virus and a disease.

I was talking more about the covid and flu vaccines.

Though I have extensively researched vaccines over the years. Looking at peer reviewed studies, trails data, and people's own personal stories,to name a few. (Not YouTube or Google,as most people assume.)

From this I have come to the conclusion that I do not need the flu jab or covid jab....or any others,if I were to be honest.

The link below is an eye-opener(and pretty shocking) if you are interested. I'd love to hear your thoughts if you do watch it 🫣

https://youtu.be/DFTsd042M3o?si=6tuN-UEedbvJLHTw

Also, did you know if you have the flu vaccine you have 36% more chance of getting the flu 🤧😬

Is it 9 hours long? I done have time to watch it.

Why do I have 36% more chance of catching flu?

It is 9 hours long, yes. But you don't have to watch it all in one go

All of the information is out there...if you look for it 😏

Well yes, I am aware of the pause button.

Could you briefly explain the reasons for 36% increase in my chances of getting flu?"

It sounds like a correlation and he's not clarified whether that's all it is. And assuming that people would be interested in watching 9 hours of something, without a precis that would summarise anything important or relevant, seems naive, misguided etc.

"Had mine 4 weeks ago. Now I have the flu "

Sorry to hear that. It is still possible to get flu if you've been vaccinated, especially the current strain apparently. How long have you had to stay in bed, flu really knocks you off your feet doesn't it?

The only time I ever get a really bad cold is straight after I've had the flu jab. So I'm not having it this year

A bad cold is better than flu.

I honesty don’t see the point? The flu comes every year most people have it for a few days? The jab literally gives you the flu for a few days numbs your arm and makes you feel crap for atleast 1-2 days and when you do get it you can still get the flu anyway? If elderly are vulnerable I can see a niche where it’s required but for the majority I think it’s crazy? Especially with the vaccine reports coming out from the dangers especially with Covid? Is no one reading the lab reports from Japan and other countries?

What does the lab report from Japan say?

Btw if you have genuine influenza (as opposed to a heavy cold) you are going to feel crap for one to two weeks after being unable to lift your head off the pillow for several days

I am reading the reports. The covid vaccines are safe for the vast majority of people, albeit like all drugs they can have adverse effects.

Also what you’re saying doesn’t make sense: the flu vaccine doesn’t numb your arm or make you feel ill for a few days. It prevents you from developing a bad flu that would floor you and instead you get a bit of malaise. You may get some pain in the arm for a day, not numbness.

Make it 3 weeks. I've totally changed my viewpoint. A soon as I'm clear of this flu, I'm getting vaccinated. I can deal with sniffles, a sore arm & whatever else comes. But the mental torture the current virus is putting me through just isn't worth it. The dizziness, increased tinnitus, lack of energy & appetite is just bloody awful. 3 of my 4 covids were easier than this.

Has the post flu depression hit yet?

I've had flu twice in my life and while I wouldn't wish it on anybody I would like the people who believe it's 'just' a bad cold that lasts a couple of days could experience the symptoms for an hour. Do they genuinely believe governments will spend millions of pounds vaccinating against something the symptoms of which could be alleviated with two paracetamol and a bottle of Lucozade?

Never had one especially the Covid Jab thank god . I was going to start taking the standard flu jabs when I hit 60 but after doing lots and lots of research because of Covid jabs and linked deaths. I found out that vaccines don’t work and never have it’s all about money and as we all know it’s true . Money is more important than you

You're going to have to be a bit more specific for me.

When you say that you found out vaccines don't work, is that all if them or just the COVID and flu?

Why do all these antivaxers claim to have done lots of research when they all appear to be low intellect sheep who will follow all the conspiracy bs on facebook and the like. The NHS are paying millions in an attempt to vaccinate and keep the population healthy (I assume the antivaxers think the most imminent doctors in the NHS arent smart enough not to allow the waste of this money) Everyone is entitled to their own opinion so why cant these antivaxers just exercise their right and leave us to make the sensible choices.

Yes. It's hit big time. It's worse in December as everyone else is out having fun, while I get to ride on the sofa, watching Christmas happiness commercials & those ads begging for money for donkeys & Africans. I can't remember the number, but I counted up how much it'd cost if I gave the suggested donation to each one. It was a silly number.

So yes, 3 weeks of sofa & flu ain't advisable. It's really gets you down. The flu jab suddenly seems a small risk to take.
