Get some Yakult - sorts this out pretty quickly.

Charnwood

Sounds more like Noroviris/Gastro than food related.

Very common to pick that up anywhere there’s a lot of people such as airports, planes or in a hotel.

Wash your hand before eating.

I prefer hot food or at the very least warmed up food.

Please be careful. My parents are and they are your age. 70s. Mum has a very sensitive stomach.

Yup if you can find in Spain. Google Translate will work in the pharmacy.

Limonada is lemonade. Stay off the Sangria for a while.

A lot of these yogurt based miracle cures seem to come from an imaginative dairy industry.

I find that reading the small print relating to claimed benefits can be interesting.

At best, some claim to contain cultures which are 'good for gut health'. Whichever part of the system 'gut' refers to...

I'm always suspicious of people with anything to sell...

In some of the rural hospitals in Africa, where rehydration fluids are in chronically short supply. They give you watered down Coke to replace fluids .

Plain will dehydrate you more but if you add water it really works well! Apparently it's absolutely packed full of minerals, salts and electrolytes.

It's cheap, it's universally available. And it tastes much better than the commercial stuff

Drink plenty of sugary drinks and take salt tablets until it sorts itself out.

Like someone said. Not great on a naturist holiday. Had the same one whilst on a naturist beach. Just got away with it.

hope they get to the bottom of it (excuse the pun) have you considered that it may have been caused by Covid? After I went to long Covid clinic it was discovered I had coeliac disease I had stomach cramps and everything else that gos with it, I’ve read that gut problems are very common post Covid

Dont think then are linking it to Covid,as never had it,my ESR(max13 mine 63) and SCR(max5.0 mine 66.4)show inflammation and ct scan has got them to call for the colonoscopy

Thanks for all the replies, still not 100% . Making sure I keep my fluids up plenty of water on board, had two small beers yesterday and one today. Definitely loosing weight as can’t face a normal sized meal. Hopefully when I get home on Saturday I can have some home made Kefir to get my gut health back up

How about some Bisto?

It'll not cure it but it'll thicken it up a bit.

If you still have the runs try getting capsules with Lopiramide in them. You should be able to get them at any pharmacy. Plus if back in UK just about any supermarket sell anti diarrhoea capsules/tablets with lapiromide in them. Own brand ones are usually between 40p and 80p.

Lots of fluids ( no alcohol and no caffeine)( 5 LITRES of mineral water mixed with the electrolytes) and the BRAT diet.

bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast.

Oh I thought you were still in the heat...if it's hot, 5 litres is what I drink.

back in the UK I drink 3 litres of fluid

decaf herbal tea, and a 500ml of water with a dash of squash or what my mum ( retired nurse) use to give me when I was sick: ribena, 7 up, sprite or lucozade.

Chicken soup is a good option, fluids plus essential gut health and minerals and vitamins...or if you are fancy bone broth. It's easy to digest.

Stay away from anything fatty, spicy or high fibre for now.

If the Plenvu hasn't been effective at clearing you out, you should contact the unit you're having the colonoscopy to let them know. Continue to drink lot's of clear fluids in the meantime though. If the bowel prep hasn't worked sufficiently then they won't get the views needed on your colon to be able to make a possible diagnosis
